Wow - good deal!! Definitely can't go wrong with that price!

I said "yes" again to the love of my life at Grand Coral Beach Club, Playa del Carmen, Mexico on our 4th anniversary - October 20, 2015

@TinkerSofi I'm going to have it out of the casing for the wedding portion. I'm actually going to make some sort of contraption that it will be attached to so that it stays in my bouquet. Maybe a stick of some sorts? not too too sure yet, but my FI is pretty good with that kind of stuff.. so hopefully he has a good idea haha. I know that there's a tutorial on YouTube that a guy made and his wife did it. It turned out really well.. If you YouTube "GoPro Bouquet" I think there's a few videos on there..

makes sense. Yeah, I wouldn't have it out of the casing if you're going to be close to water and things like that, but I think you'll have a nicer video if it's out for the ceremony at least ;)

Well.. It's been a little while since i've posted some updates. I've still been wedding planning over the weekends..and who am I kidding? Also while at work.

This past weekend I painted my mason jars for my centrepieces (cute mint/light aqua colour), I stopped at Target to check out their "Liquidation sale" .. I didn't find too much useful items, but I did find some very cute paper straws that I think I may use for the wedding, received my cake topper (added glitter to it.. obviously) and I attempted at a wire "bride" hanger myself (after MANY attempts, I finally made one worthy) - Will post some photos later on.

I also confirmed my cake design with my coordinator.. We will be having a coral coloured cake and i've asked her to change the icing to "rosette" style icing. Hoping it turns out something like this (I sent her this picture)...

I confirmed my music for the reception. Originally I was going to just bring a bose speaker, but I want a microphone and i'm also a bit worried that the speaker won't be enough. I contacted PSAV and luckily they are a Palace Approved vendor (Yay! No vendor fees), so I will be using their basic speaker/microphone package. I really don't NEED a DJ and I have heard mixed reviews about most of them on here. I think a playlist will suffice and my brother is quite the music buff so I'm leaving it in his hands.

My fiance and I were on the fence about a videographer for the longest time and we finally decided to just spend the extra because it seems worth the money for us. I've heard a lot on this forum about how the wedding day can be such a blur and I just kept thinking about how the last thing I want is to not have memories of the ceremony.. or our first dance.. We have gone with Indigo Weddings because they have some fantastic work and to be honest, some of the other vendors I looked at were just not our style (a bit cheesier.. or it was just full on video of the ceremony with no mixture) I liked how Indigo mixes pivital moments of your wedding and in such a fluid way. Also, the bluray/HD quality of their videos is pretty fantastic.

All in all I had a pretty productive week last week and i'm feeling great about our choices. I think that the wedding is falling into place nicely so far.. hopefully not too many more speedbumps!

PS. How was deposits for you ladies? I'm finding that a lot of my guests keep saying "Yes, we're coming".. They've RSVP'd and given us 'their word', but it seems like pulling teeth to get some of our guests to commit properly with their deposit. We still have about a month to collect them, but it's getting on my nerves how much some people procrastinate.

Everything looks and sounds great!!!

Deposits were very frustrating. I think most women will back me up that we all had similar situations to you.

I am not joking when I say that most of our 42 guests booked in the LAST 2 days. I think my dad was last to pay!!!!

So hang in there, the last couple of weeks will be busy for your TA!!!

We sent out 2 reminders -- 1 a few weeks before and another in the last week for those who had RSVP'd but hadn't put down their deposit.  Most thanked us because they had forgotten to do it!!  Our TA was also very good communicating deadlines, etc.

Good luck

All of my guests waited until the last week, most of them the last day!

@calgarybride2015 Thanks!!

Oh my gosh! I'm somewhat glad that i'm not the only one, but man does it drive me crazy! haha. I have told everyone "PLEASE deposit ASAP.. it will GREATLY assist with our planning".. and.. crickets.

We've gotten some of the deposits already, but our wedding party hasn't even deposited yet. They've all committed and assured us that they are coming. I'm ranting a bit now haha, but it's just my impatient nature as well.

@Meandhim Oh my.. I can see there's a trend here and that I should probably expect the same! haha I'm going to be so stressed out until I have my final number of confirmed deposits..

LOL I know of a few other brides on here that will chime in the same!

I was ancy and I had a lot less time than you -- I booked in May for our January wedding, so I just rounded my number up to 50 and purchased a few things based on that number.  Gave me extras just in case and for keepsakes.  But I totally feel your pain 100%, but your deadline is fast approaching and you will know your number before you know it :)

Our guests also waited until the last 2 days to book haha. We sent out texts to people a week before to remind them of the deadline but we had also given them the invitations about 2 or 3 weeks before the deadline.

We hired a videographer for the same reason. It meant having a lower photographer budget but I think it was a good choice :)

@TinkerSofi We also are paying less for a photographer, but we really liked his work so it worked out well. As much as I think Del Sol is beautiful, it wasn't really our style with the saturated/over contrasted photos. We wanted more natural looking photos so it worked out really well.

Sounds like I should expect the last minute bookers! Everyone has had a similar experience it seems!

Just wanted to upload a pictures of my weekend projects..

I've painted some of the smaller jars gold (with spray paint) and the larger ones (mint) will be used on the guest tables as centrepieces.

My cake topper is in the picture as well...

I decided to give them that "distressed/shabby chic look".. so I sanded them down after painting them..this is the finished product..

And these are the straws that I bought from Target - in an assortment of colours. One pack of 20 straws was $1.50 after the 50% off liquidation price.
