Ladies I Need Some Help....

Recommended Posts

I've spent the last few months looking at dresses online trying to get an idea of what I might like for Mexico in October. With everything we've been through with surgeries and hospital stays, I want hubby's jaw to drop.

I have sort of an idea of what I think I might like. I was curious about some of the knockoff sites that are talked about here so decided to take a look. I went through dressilyme and found this. Obviously with that site the designer isn't mentioned at all and they use their own numbering system.

Does anyone recognize the background of the picture or the designer? I haven't seen anything like it before but it puts together pretty much everything I'm looking for. I adore the keyhole back style and the layers in the skirt. It's very likely way out of the range that I'm willing to pay but I would still like to try and find out who makes it.

Thanks ladies!!

Oh my gosh!!! How did you do that??? That's awesome!! it's exactly right. I've never even heard of Kittychen! Which probably means it will be waaaaaay more than I'm willing to spend!

Thank you pykx82!  Ok ladies - so next question! Is something like that too much for the terrace at Azul Fives? I would want the train shortened. That's definitely a bit too much but I'm in love with the rest of it or at least a similar style!

I dont think it is too much at all. My dress is similar to the one pictured here and I personally dont think it is too much for my wedding. It is your wedding day, you should feel beautiful, and if this dress makes you feel beautiful then it is just perfect!

@@acw271011 I don't think it's too much at all!  I was worried about that when I found my dress (http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=5MS162&page=0&pageSize=36&keywordText=&keywordType=All) but the consultant at the store said that the old rules for destination wedding dresses don't seem to apply anymore.  Evidently brides are just wearing what they like, which is great!

One thing to consider is how hot you might be.  I'm going to have some crinolines removed from mine so there's not so much business around my legs, and I'll probably get a short party dress for after dinner when we head to the disco.

Other than that, you should wear whatever makes you feel amazing!

aww you ladies are all so sweet and I appreciate the encouragement. The thing is we're already married. This is more of a vow renewal/celebration of life deal just because of some stuff we've been through and as much as I want his jaw to drop I don't want to be too far over the top. I agree about taking some of the crinoline type stuff out to tone it down a little. lol the main thing now is to try to find out what it costs!!!

@@acw271011 - I agree with @@pykx82...your day your rules.  I'm having a classic black & white wedding (he in a black tux and me in a more traditional wedding gown w/ modest train) even though we are getting married in Mexico on a sky deck overlooking the beach.  Go with what makes you feel amazing & fits your vision.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
