Riu Palace Mexico And Playacar Palace

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I'm new here and starting to plan our 2016 wedding in Mexico. We have it narrowed down to two places; Riu Palace Mexico and Playacar Palace. My FI and I have decided to choose whichever resort offers what we want for the least amount of money.

That being said, I'm finding it very difficult to find information about the cost of extras, such as for example a private reception or outside vendor fees if applicable.

Does anyone have any updated information for either of these resorts which they could share? Also, maybe I haven't searched enough, but are there any more recent brides at either of these two resorts who could help me out and share their opinion of the resort and wedding process?

Thanks in advance!

Those were my two choices also. We stayed at Riu palace riviera maya and the rooms were horrible, moldy, moist, and stinky. Everything else about the resort was great. I did not like their locations for weddings as none of them are private. So i considered riu palace mexico as my friend didn't have any of the company's we were having. I really wasn't impressed with Riu wedding packages, it seems like they charge you for EVERYTHING. I think riu is good if you are not going to have alot of guests. Now palace and hard rock resorts in my opinion have the best benefits for wedding groups. Palace offers up to unlimited free night stays, free upgrades, and up to unlimited private events which is great. My wedding was originally booked at Playacar Palace, I toured it in September very nice resort, great location right next door to senor frogs on 5th ave. But the resort was a little under meeting the needs of our guests. So we decided to move it to Moon. Riu palace mexico is located in a private and gated community called playacar. It is nice in there. You will find tons of information here and feel free to contact one of the travel agents from this forum, wright travel agency.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
