Custom Made Wedding Dress

Recommended Posts

@@TinkerSofi Thanks! It was a lot of fun!

I've always been drawn to certain necklines and even more so backlines (lol is that even a thing?? - that is to say I LOVE low backs). I was pretty confident in the silhouette I wanted and every time I went into a bridal store I just felt overwhelmed, didn't wanted to even sift through any of the dresses ...is that weird? When my bridesmaids gave me that gift certificate for a custom made dress, I took that as I sign. I was nervous at times but just tried to trust the process.

It has been sitting in my closet since the end of Jan ....a year before my wedding! I just want to put it on and prance around my house all the time. LOL! I have to admit that a couple of times I've made my fiance stay in the bedroom while I put my dress on in the living room. Sometimes you just want to wear it and remind yourself of how much you love it! :D

I agree with you! I've tried it on so many times already just to see how it looks hahah. I find you tend to forget over time. I bought a sample gown also a bit over a year before our wedding so it's been sitting there for a while now too. I can't wait to do the final alterations and see how it will really look :). Right now it's way too long so I can't really parade around it that much unless I want to trip or ruin the dress (both not very fun options).

I think the whole wedding gown shopping is not for everyone. I know a few people who get really overwhelmed just thinking about it, so I think you made the right choice in your case. For me, I found that it was so much fun trying all these things on! I kinda wish I had tried on more, but I found my dress pretty quickly. I think if I had gone the custom dress route I would have kept wondering what else was out there. Maybe a lot of it has to do with how specific the image in your head is :). Mine wasn't very specific at all! ahah

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
