Ahhh, yes, rolling the ironed chair ties! Seems so obvious now that you say it. I was wondering about how to have them not be wrinkled ;)

I was lucky enough to have people offer to bring all of my decorations and favors down for me. I took over 100 chair ties with me that I had ironed flat and rolled up together. I used some gigantic suitcases and lots of packing materials. Luckily most of my decorations were lightweight and fit easily together in suitcases. I would start asking  groomsmen to commit to carrying on a suitcase for you! You know boys pack 6 items and are good for a week! :)

Wow.. I can totally relate to you, but my wedding will be about 1/3 the size :)

I want to bring OOT bags, some decor (table cloths, lanterns, candles, votives etc) and i'm kind of freaking out when I think of how i'm going to manage.. especially since i'm already an over-packer when I go on vacation (I bring my whole wardrobe).

Some of my friends have suggested dispersing items amongst the wedding party and family. Give them each something to bring with them. I'm renting some decor, because obviously bringing 30 charger plates would not really work out well.

There are some things you obviously can't bring lol.

I think I may also give a few welcome bags out before the day of.. I want to give them out there, but if packing is an issue then I may have to give a few out first.

Oh my! haha. Are they fairly light in weight? Honestly.. I did actually consider it, but then I weighed out the price of how much I would pay in extra baggage and the $2.90 per plate my vendor is charging is worth it for me.

Kudos to you though!! Any way to save a bit is a great idea. I already have 6 table cloths that weigh quite a bit, all of my OOT bags, paper lanterns, Votives and LEDs, Marquee lights and i'm bringing all of my own floral.

I can only imagine how stressed i'm going to be closer to the day.

Yes they are not bad. I am packing 14 9 inch glass vases for pillar candles, and some other vase like stuff, table overlays, and a few others. Not much. I found the chargers at Michaels for .75 almost on a huge Christmas sale. They are gold. Couldn't pass it up!
Mother in law is a TA who gets free luggage so I'm packing and hAbding over to her :)

I also want to point out that most airlines allow two personal articles with you on the plane.  You can have a backpack, large purse, bag of some sort AND a roller suitcase. No joke!  I suggest you check on your airlines website for what their carry on baggage is and what the size/weight requirements are for each piece and push the limit so you can get even more free baggage!

I was super nervous we were breaking the rules and would get denied, as I honestly thought the backpack was equivalent to the roller suitcase but it's not. We had PLENTY of our guests do the same thing.  Who knew!

I carried a large weekender type bag of all the breakables, wedding day items (jewelry, shoes, etc.), electronics, snacks, etc. Then I had a roller suitcase of maracas.    Spouse had other things.  Then our kids had their own bags of their wedding day items, electronics, snacks, etc.

Good to know. I spoke to my TA and she had mentioned that the bride and groom get a larger limit for luggage (up to 50lbs for checked) and up to 20 pounds each for a carry on. My parents usually only use one checked luggage between the two of them, so I've already claimed their second checked bag for some of my decor stuff. Also.. i'm planning on hunting down all of my FI's bridal party because guys usually pack quite light ;) haha

We didn't get anymore carry on being the bride/groom but with our free upgrade to first class we got 4 checked bags at 70lbs each. The hardest I tried I couldn't get a suitcase over 40lbs lol.

My kids each got a suitcase each at 50lbs in economy.

Always worth asking around, most (not all from my experience) people will help out. Glad you have some extra space thru guests.
