Cake Flavors - Karisma Resorts

Recommended Posts

Hi All:

In reading numerous Karisma threads on here, one common question noticed (and I have even posed) was around wedding cakes - specifically which flavors taste the best.

As I finalize my own wedding, I thought it might be helpful to create a cake flavor "one stop shop" thread - especially since this info often gets lost in the much bigger threads (e.g., Azul Beach Brides, Generations Brides, EDR Brides etc..) where so many useful tips & details are being engaged.

To kick it off, I will share what flavors we are considering - based on the samples we tried at the BDR:

  • Lemon
  • Carrot Cake
  • Vanilla Rum

Hopefully others will find this useful and chime in with their picks! ;)

Happy Planning! :D

@@linaco80 - the dressed up starfish on top are too cute! :)

@@LisaAnthonyPoppy - OMG I didn't even think about filling! Thanks for the idea to think about that...

@@TinkerSofi - that sounds really yummy.

Are you ladies thinking of going multi-tiered?  I'm torn (but think we are ultimately going that route) given the meal comes with so many desserts.

Right now we have the cake for 30-40 guests. Worst case scenario, if the maybe's say no we'll have 41 people and 3 kids so I think we'll downgrade to the 20-30 people 2 tier cake for the same reason, by the time the cake comes around everyone is full

My cake was 2 tiers and I had 45 people total. Most of us had seconds as it was super tasty and we had a slice or two left over. I love cake though so I'm never full haha. We had dinner at 530/600 ish and cake at 800.

we are going CHEAP here with the cake because we are not allowed to bring it to the USA with us and we think people might not eat the cake as much since we have desserts too, we are looking at the cake for pics only so I don't think we are going fancy with the cake (I might change my mind)

We were thinking about buying little boxes and give them to people before they leave. If it doesn't get eaten at the reception at least it won't go to waste :). Besides it will be nice to have a little snack when we come back from all the partying :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
