@@cruisebride2016 Bringing along a photographer can be affordable, if you find the right photographer.

If you want one along on your cruise to photograph your wedding day (getting ready, the ceremony, the first dance, etc) and then also at the islands, then you'll have to pay for the cruise.  But there are a lot of great photographers on this website, myself included, who offer great deals to destination wedding brides.

Looking at the price of the Freedom of the Seas in May, for the cheapest room, it's about $2000.  For all day photography coverage and an extra session on the islands, that's not bad at all.  :)

@@slfavors I am so sorry that I hadn't seen this message before!

My photographer is the daughter of an acquaintance. I was talking with the acquantaince about the wedding and they mentioned their daughter is a wedding photographer. I jokingly asked if she was available in April 2016. The acquantaince gave me her contact info. I did some research on her and thought she could work well for what we needed. I had a meeting with the photographer and we hit it off well. We are paying for her flight and half the price for a hotel room and cruise cabin since she is bringing her husband and he will pay the other half. She will photograph the entire week, so it was worth it to us to pay her travel costs. I was nervous about hiring a photographer on the cruise ship or in Jamaica and being disappointed by the quality of their work.

Our final payment was due January 26th, so we have our final guest count. We were waiting for that before ordering too much for the guests. It is good that we did because we had 6 people cancel in the last few weeks before final payment. We plan to do OOT bags- 1 per couple or person traveling alone. Yesterday, we ordered the bags from totebagfactory.com. We got the Polyester Beach Tote Bags with Zipper in White and Royal for $2.93 (we ordered more than 12). We are in the process of buying the items to go into the bags and I agree, it is fun to shop :)

We got passport holders and are making an information booklet that looks like a passport that we are sending to our booked guests.

I would like to do something for the first day that will show that we are part of the same group. I am not sure if everyone in the group would be willing to wear matching shirts. Do you have any ideas?

We just booked to have private photo shoot on st. thomas since we will get married on the ship. I was thinking to bring someone along but I don't have the time to search so I will ask that our guest take plenty of pictures and I will upload them to my computer or they can through an app on their phones.  So far we have 35 booked guest that are going.  we had 4 people to cancel as well.  We are having an all white cocktail party on the second night as our formal meet and greet and will play wedding bingo and one more game for prizes. For the first day I will designate a place for everyone to meet during the sail away party to have a drink and informal introductions.

@@cruisebride2016 your day is fast approaching! Well we are having a cocktail hour the evening before our wedding. I thought we would (I ) would rather have a nice quiet dinner with my new husband and talk about our day. Can't wait to hear about your day.

@@slfavors I did a informal poll and asked some people what are some things you needed on a cruise but you didn't have and surprisingly alot of people said a highlighter to use with the daily paper to mark things they wanted to do/see... I decided not to do them but I bought a bunch to give. I had s folder made to put our door hangers in our itinerary cards and our hashtag cards inside..

@@LADYJUSTICE Yes, our wedding day is 3 weeks from today!! And, the cruise starts in 18 days. We ended up having 20 people book with our travel agent, so we earned the tour conductor credit for 1 guest and some group amenities. We are in the process of booking the cocktail party during our reception through the travel agent. We will also be able to use the money to book a dinner at a specialty restaurant. I ended up deciding to do matching T-shirts for the first day of the cruise. I really like them!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
