Average Time To Bridesmaid Dresses To Arrive?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I'm wondering if anyone knows the average time that bridesmaids dresses take to come in? I want to make sure I have enough time for mine to make it, but going shopping with my MOH is turning out to be like pulling teeth. I don't get it, I'm even paying for it pretty much :(. Maybe I'm just being paranoid and she actually has legitimate reasons to be unable to make it every time I ask, but it gets a bit discouraging. Anyway, rant done, I just don't want to leave it until too late!

@@TinkerSofi great question! I'm assuming alterations (in case needed) will also have to be factored in)?

And feel free to rant, that's what we're here for :) I hope she does have a legitimate excuse but I would be frustrated as well

Good to know! Thanks girls. Yeah, she's in school, I figured that she would be less busy now that the semester just started but I guess not and I don't want to wait until May when she's totally done. I just don't want to be cutting it too close because yeah, alterations might need to be done, and I might have to send one dress to Colombia and one to Argentina for a couple of the girls to their dresses altered over there before the wedding. That could take another 2-3 weeks :S. The wedding is still over 6 months out but time kind of flies.

I can always go with my future sister in law and we'll pick hers, her sister's and my Argentinean friend's. Then I can go with my MOH to pick hers when she has time. If push comes to shove I'll just pick the dress myself and too bad, although I doubt it will come to that (hopefully haha).

2013 I ordered my dress from David Bridal in January and it came in May. Like a week before the wedding, which was in another state.

My 4 girls are all in different states and ordered from there in mid November, and they were told mid February. No sign of any dresses yet.

Depends where you order but in recent years it's been taking a solid 4+ months. I was in several weddings in 2009/10 and David's bridal took 2 to 3.

I was just talking about this yesterday with my MAIL because it's a total racket. They don't have someone hand making them, and there's only so many dresses and styles. I strongly feel it's like the price premium you pay for anything wedding or baby!

I'm guessing that it takes longer if you want your order for spring/summer because they get more orders. I better get cracking! haha

Yep - I'd agree!  I was in an Oct wedding in 2010 and it came in about 8 weeks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
