Have you ever looked into the program called 21 day fix? I'm starting to follow the eating plan (not so much the workouts) but the eating plan is actually really easy to follow and teaches you how much you should be eating and to eat a balanced diet. The first week I did it, I was seriously shocked how much food I had to eat. I actually struggled and wouldn't want the food but I dropped weight that week so fast. Might we worth looking it up. Even if you don't want to buy the program you can research the eating plan and find out more about it through google.

Just before my Vacay home I did the 21 Day fix....my first round I lost 9lbs and 4 inches...I was doing the eating plan (loosely) and the exercises. Since I've come back from my Vacation I have yet to start up again...but I  did give me a healthy eating habit and I managed not to gain while I was away! I had planned to do another  round when I got back but I need to catch up on some wedding things so I could clear my mind!

Awesome, congrats!!!      Is the 21 Day Fix associated with Shakeology?

I hate to admit this, but I am really good all week.  I eat the same things so I find that part easy - the diet itself isn't the problem. It's the temptation for beer and snacks! ha!    We love wing nights, we love beer, we love going out and not eating at 'calorie friendly' places!  BACON!  This is my large problem!

I have made a commitment to myself to stay on the plan all weekend. If we eat out, we will pick a place like Boston Pizza or Applebee's who has a calorie conscious menu!  And no booze! (which I don't need as my liver is still aching from Vegas)

It is a with associated with Shakeology...however I didn't get the Shakology....I just got the regular one. Shakology automatically charges your CC for refills and I don't like that. Apparently you lose more and  much faster when using the Shakology along with the 21 day fix. I'm also not a big fan of Protien Shakes...

Booze is a big one....luckily (or Unlucky) for me I cant really drink so I don't have that one...but the junk food and eating out is a hard one for me too! love wings, bacon, anything deep fired!mmm...getting hungry now...almost super time here...

Its a beachbody program and you can use Shakeology or not. I have it, I only like the chocolate one. I wouldn't say it makes a huge difference though. I also use Vega Protein because I struggle to eat enough protein in my diet which isn't good.

I am also a junk food craver. Its such a weakness. For me its chips and Vietnamese food haha. Will power!!!

To be honest, I tried shakeology and didn't like the taste. That said, it was a sample from a friend so maybe another flavor I would have liked.  I used to use ViSalus, but as you mentioned @@yycbride2016 I don't think they make a big difference.  I love shakes though, so I just use the Body Fortress protein powder from Walmart :)

I have never really done any of the 'at home' programs because I have a Goodlife membership - love the Les Mills programs. I give you guys props for doing them.  If I relied on me working out at home I would fail miserably hehehe!!!

We bought a juicer after our wedding and haven't used it yet. I am thinking I might, but not like a juicing diet, just a juice once in awhile in replacement of something else.  Do either of you juice?

Me and GoodLife are NOT friends anymore... Long story...but there is s small gym in my building that I use sometimes and I joined the fitness section of the rec Center up the street... My problem is I need a workout partner or a personal trainer... Without the cost of course! Lol

I've never tried juicing before... But I don't think a juicing diet is a good idea either... I do sometimes buy juice usually something with greens in it because I don't get nearly enough green veggies

Sigh  I would love to lose 13lbs!!! @@JoannaBanana I'm definitely right there with you! I would probably give everything I own right now to get to 135lbs! I dropped 25lbs last year, 14 of which was coming out of surgery and I thought oh good, this gives me my kickstart and I'll get the rest off easily. Not! i've managed the first 11 to keep off, but the other 14 came right back on. I weighed no more than 110lbs most of my life until I hit 40. Then...... yuck. So @@calgarybride2015 I haven't had a lifelong struggle as you've mentioned, but it is always a struggle. The scale goes down a bit and I get all happy, then it goes back up. I tried weight watchers and gained weight. Exercising is a big part of things for me. I did a lot as a teenager but at 25 I had 2 kids under 2 and worked full time. That doesn't leave a lot of time for exercise. I did ok like i said until I hit 40. Ouch. Talk about a metabolism change? Yowsers. Now I'm dealing with multiple incision scars that are still tender, almost no waist with nerves that got cut and arthritic pain that makes it hard just to go up and down stairs, never mind anything else. I have "myfitnesspal" but have no idea what to even do with it. Doug and I eat salads monday to friday and don't eat out anymore, or at least very rarely. It's the summer so we bbq at home. But I look at food and gain weight which totally sucks because I am so much a foodie!  I've looked at the 21 day fix but again, the exercises for me will likely be a no go. I'm so short of breath right now that just the walk from the subway is a big deal. And no answers yet as to why. I did a cardiac stress test 4 weeks ago and they kicked me off the treadmill! I managed 2 minutes. The nurse hit the emergency stop, another nurse comes in and I'm being escorted off! But blood pressure and heart rate were fine. I couldn't even talk I was so out of breath. I would totally LOVE to find a way to get some pounds off. When you get to my age, it just isn't easy anymore! lol In other words..... old!

I don't think I could ever do a juicing diet, OMG I love to eat and miss chewing! When I started my weight loss journey back in 2011 I started with ViSalus, it didn't take long to realize I could never drink 2 shakes a day LOL!!!!   I have one for breakfast now because I do find them filling!

You are right, it is much easier with a partner to push and motivate you.   I had that for many years, but everyone seemed to fall off the wagon.  Now I try to push myself to go alone, which isn't all that hard - but certainly makes it much easier to change my mind!  My gym friend is getting back at it too, so we try to motivate eachother!   I can't afford a personal trainer either!

Ohhh my, sounds like an interesting story!  Hope it wasn't too bad.  Thankfully I have had no issues with goodlife.

I started a support and accountability thread for all of us. I had promised to initiate one and I finally got around to it! Maybe we can all do this and myfitnesspal?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
