Sigh  I would love to lose 13lbs!!! @JoannaBanana I'm definitely right there with you! I would probably give everything I own right now to get to 135lbs! I dropped 25lbs last year, 14 of which was coming out of surgery and I thought oh good, this gives me my kickstart and I'll get the rest off easily. Not! i've managed the first 11 to keep off, but the other 14 came right back on. I weighed no more than 110lbs most of my life until I hit 40. Then...... yuck. So @calgarybride2015 I haven't had a lifelong struggle as you've mentioned, but it is always a struggle. The scale goes down a bit and I get all happy, then it goes back up. I tried weight watchers and gained weight. Exercising is a big part of things for me. I did a lot as a teenager but at 25 I had 2 kids under 2 and worked full time. That doesn't leave a lot of time for exercise. I did ok like i said until I hit 40. Ouch. Talk about a metabolism change? Yowsers. Now I'm dealing with multiple incision scars that are still tender, almost no waist with nerves that got cut and arthritic pain that makes it hard just to go up and down stairs, never mind anything else. I have "myfitnesspal" but have no idea what to even do with it. Doug and I eat salads monday to friday and don't eat out anymore, or at least very rarely. It's the summer so we bbq at home. But I look at food and gain weight which totally sucks because I am so much a foodie!  I've looked at the 21 day fix but again, the exercises for me will likely be a no go. I'm so short of breath right now that just the walk from the subway is a big deal. And no answers yet as to why. I did a cardiac stress test 4 weeks ago and they kicked me off the treadmill! I managed 2 minutes. The nurse hit the emergency stop, another nurse comes in and I'm being escorted off! But blood pressure and heart rate were fine. I couldn't even talk I was so out of breath. I would totally LOVE to find a way to get some pounds off. When you get to my age, it just isn't easy anymore! lol In other words..... old!

I said "yes" again to the love of my life at Grand Coral Beach Club, Playa del Carmen, Mexico on our 4th anniversary - October 20, 2015

@calgarybride2015

Me and GoodLife are NOT friends anymore... Long story...but there is s small gym in my building that I use sometimes and I joined the fitness section of the rec Center up the street... My problem is I need a workout partner or a personal trainer... Without the cost of course! Lol

I've never tried juicing before... But I don't think a juicing diet is a good idea either... I do sometimes buy juice usually something with greens in it because I don't get nearly enough green veggies

I don't think I could ever do a juicing diet, OMG I love to eat and miss chewing! When I started my weight loss journey back in 2011 I started with ViSalus, it didn't take long to realize I could never drink 2 shakes a day LOL!!!!   I have one for breakfast now because I do find them filling!

You are right, it is much easier with a partner to push and motivate you.   I had that for many years, but everyone seemed to fall off the wagon.  Now I try to push myself to go alone, which isn't all that hard - but certainly makes it much easier to change my mind!  My gym friend is getting back at it too, so we try to motivate eachother!   I can't afford a personal trainer either!

Ohhh my, sounds like an interesting story!  Hope it wasn't too bad.  Thankfully I have had no issues with goodlife.

@calgarybride2015, @Meandhim and @yycbride2016

I started a support and accountability thread for all of us. I had promised to initiate one and I finally got around to it! Maybe we can all do this and myfitnesspal?

@calgarybride2015

Oh my FI and I got a membership to goodlife last fall and i've only been a handful of times. We thought a membership would motivate us to go more often but turns out we both prefer working out at home. We built an at home gym with a rubber floor and everything. I feel like I should still use my gym membership for the next couple months before it expires though.

Never tried juicing. We got a Vitamix for xmas and OMG changed my life. Its so much easier to get in my veggies now. Even throwing in a couple handfuls of spinach into my smoothies is amazing. Last night I made broccoli soup (low sodium chicken broth, broccoli, cauliflower, onion, garlic, and a bit of cheese). This vitamix has changed the way I eat I think. We both use it practically every day.

@acw271011 Awe I'm sorry to hear you're having so many struggles with weight post surgery and with everything you have going on. Its not easy. I know that since I'm so young still I have to stay on top of it because I want to be healthy. I can tell when my diet gets yucky because i just feel terrible. My skin gets bad and worst of all I have a soy intolerance and almost all foods have soy in them So I have to be really careful to just eat mostly natural foods.

@Wafflesmom Oo Where do we find this? haha (nvm just found it)

I absolutely love using Fitbit to achieve my fitness goals. I would like to lose about 30lbs before my wedding in 2017. Please add me brittnoel448. Would love some encouragement and ladies to help each other through this stressful process!

I was size 6 and dropped down to size 2 over the years. I have learned some things during this time:

- Muscles eat fat - Muscles need protein to grow - therefore, eat protein and weight train (heavy weights) to feed your muscles

- No, you will not look too muscular/bulky if you weight train and eat balanced, healthy foods

- Intake of calories < Output of calories = calorie deficit = loss in either fat or muscles (depends on how much carb vs. protein you eat)

- 70-80% of what you eat = how you look

- Muscles weight more than fat! Don't look at the scale as the only measurement

- Drink water

- You need carbs to live - just watch out for overloading on good carbs and definitely watch out for bad carbs

- It takes time to change habits. Stick with it and you will see results

Agree 100%

I hear a lot of people workout hard hard hard and their deficit is too large. The body and muscles need food to do their job!!!!

And my fave saying 'you can't out exercise a bad diet' your diet is so important as you've said.
