It is kind of a nike fuel band. It tracks your steps/calories burnt/ exercise and sleep, one of the new ones also tracks your heart rate :). It's pretty cool but I know what you mean I've been dropping hints to Juan since Christmas and he says it's totally unnecessary and silly. I still want one. I like the sleep track the most and I think id use the heart rate monitor quite a bit. I'm a sucker for intense workouts and sometimes I feel like I push myself a bit too hard.

I didn't get into the fuel band. I know it gave points but for what? I saw no point. The fit bit seems to do more things I'd use. How accurate is the watch HRM? I know with the chest strap you don't have to ever touch it as it reads your actual HR but I know some
Of the wrist ones each time your intensity changes you need to 're set' it so it can pick up your new HR. Hopefully it's more intelligent than that!!!??

I haven't read much into it but I think it's pretty good as it uses your heart rate to better calculate your sleep pattern as well as calories spent and everything

@TinkerSofi @calgarybride2015 My fiance has the Fitbit Charge HR. He says the HR part of it is a bit finiky. When he lifts weight I think there is restricted blood flow around the wrist and he said the hr function on it goes a bit crazy. But he likes it and it looks good. I have the Fitbit One and I never go a day without wearing it. I'm obsessed. I've had it for I think 2 years now and its amazing. I love seeing how my sleep was or how active I was in a day. I also have the fitbit Aria scale and it's great to track progress. For my workouts I use the Polar HR watch and strap. For running I have a TomTom GPS watch that also tracks my Heart rate. (I'm a bit of a fitness tech nerd haha).

Oh also, The fitbit works with myfitnesspal. The tomtom GPS watch works with MapMyRun which also syncs with fitbit and myfitnesspal.

You are a fitness tech nerd lol

I love my polar FT4! In pink of course. Haven't met the goal for the fitbit yet but hopefully soon!

Not sure I mentioned it above but got a nike Fuelband for Xmas 2 years ago. Pointless. we sold them lol

Bahaha I used to love map my run until I would walk down my stairs and it said I ran 1k so I reinstalled and had no luck. So turned to a nike app that tracks it. Have you had that problem @yycbride2016

@calgarybride2015 That's so strange that it says you ran 1km when you go down the stairs. I've never had that issue. Now with my GPS watch I don't even have to open up the MapMyRun app to get it going. Once i'm done my run, I stop my watch and sync it to my phone and then it auomatically posts my stats to MapMyRun and adjusts my calories in MyFitnessPal. I tried running both MapMyRun and my watch and they were ever so slightly different in distances so I decided to just use my watch.

Thats the same Polar HR I have. Excpet When I got it, I didn't see the pink one :( So sad I missed out. Oh well. Its great when you have fresh batteries in both the strap and watch. I went a long time without using it because it kept disconnecting during my workouts. It was really frustrating. But I put new batteries in both and now it works again.

I've never had any issues with mine! But good to know if I do! I had to order the pink from their website. Also had to re order a new chest probe when mine fell in the toilet. Was nice I didn't need to buy the whole package with watch again.

Ya it was silly how it was calculating. Couldn't ever figure it out! Ah well.

how does the polar tracker work? I realized after wearing my mom's fitbit for a while that I like it more when I can just track my workouts. That's all I need really. So you have a watch and a chest strap? Is that uncomfortable?

Yes it's a watch and a chest strap. I don't find it uncomfortable as it's adjustable. From my research the chest strap is the only accurate continuous monitoring. The watch makes you reset it as your intensity changes. Well my girlfriends did anyways so that was a little turn off for me. I could be wrong and I'm sure things change daily so technology may have changed. I have the polar FT4 and believe I paid around $150.

that's what I've read too, that the chest strap is the most accurate. There's also so many polar trackers out there I was a bit lost haha
