Anyone Using Myfitnesspal To Get Fit For Their Wedding?

Any 2015/2016 Brides using MyfitnessPal app / website to loose weight before the wedding?

I'm using it and I have lost 5 Lbs since I started keeping track on Jan 5th. Now I'm starting to lose focus as I get busier and I'm looking for friends with like minded goals to keep me motivated. Going to pick up the Fitbit Charge HR today after work to see if that will help as well.

I'm not much of a "Crazy Diet", "Supplements" or "Crazy Cleanse" type person...I'm on a eat right (sort of..most of the time..) and exercise kind of thing.

If anyone feels like joining or is already a member we could start a Best Destination Group and inspire each other to "start sweating for the wedding"

I'm on it, have been on and off for years.

I've found the only way I lose weight is by food tracking and running. Neither which I enjoy lol. My Crossfit gym is doing a Paleo challenge for the 3 weeks before the wedding, and while I'm gone, and I figure it's a good way to motivate myself to eat more healthy. It's unprocessed foods, focusing on protein/veggies/fruits/good carbs. Not doing the whole30. It's basically how I try to eat now, just no caffeine/sugar.

Mfp is great for keeping you accountable. I'd suggest not eating back calories, and overestimate when you can't exactly measure. And it's only good if you track everything, no cheating lol.

I'd be up for a group if you wanted to start it!

I haven't been using it, mostly due to laziness, but when I was I found that I lost the weight I wanted pretty quickly. I should pick it up again. I also want to get a fitbit to help me out :). I find it really difficult to eat healthy in winter. The last thing I want to eat are veggies and fruit :(

Best of luck! I'll let you know if I start using it again, maybe I should go get that fitbit today :)

I lost 50 pounds using MyFitnessPal. Then, I maintained it for a year without it. Now that I have gotten engaged, I got back onto MyFitnessPal and lost 4 pounds in the first two weeks just by tracking calories. When I am tracking, I make better choices when it comes to small things. Since the small things add up, cutting those out makes the difference between maintaining and losing for me.

I aim to eat my goal calories every day, no matter whether or not I workout. Therefore, the calories I burn with exercise leads to overall being below goal.

Ok. I have to ask. What's a fitbit (sp)? I think I accidentally downloaded my fitness pal but I've never used it lol

Fitbit.com - it's a brand of wearable activity trackers that track things like steps, floors climbed, distance, heart rate, sleep, etc, depending on the model.

I loooove mine! I just upgraded to the charge hr, which tracks so much more than my flex. I love the heart rate tracking for my workouts and floors/sleep tracking!

I don't know my map username, I have it saved on my phone app. I think it's marinaherbert84 tho...lol

@@Meandhim this is such a great idea! Like everyone else, I haven't been using MFP lately but if you start a group, I'll start using it again. I have 1 year to go (exactly a year today) and I have to be disciplined enough to maintain my weight. I've already bought my wedding dress and I've found that buying it early has been such a great motivator to stay active and eat a little healthier.

I'll check my username later and find you on it

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
