I totally feel you. I was up close to 8 at my wedding and now 20. I've recommitted and this time I hope for more than a week :( I've done it before but can't seem to get the mindset back! Help! I'm 'kimad' if you want another friend lol

@@JoannaBanana I feel you. I thought once the wedding was booked and we were a year out I would be so on track and get in the best shape of my life. Unfortunately I did the opposite and gained weight, got lazy, ate poorly. Now that I'm 6 months out, I tell you, motivation at its finest here. I just ran my first half marathon and because my training lacked I hurt my knees, so since I can't workout, my diet is practically flawless now. Apparently I just needed to hit my breaking point, which was 6 months away from my wedding and needing to lose 13lbs!

I struggle with maintenance. I was at my goal (well 2 lbs off) and in the best shape of my life. Now I'm not. You take some cause it's maintenance then it falls apart. I shouldn't be so hard on myself I did maintain for 2 years then I got engaged and that took over. I just wish it was easier. I wish fighting my weight wasn't going to be a life long battle

Its a lifestyle, not a fix. It will be there forever. I know now that I'm in my mid 20's that it's not as easy to keep my weight down. I used to be able to eat whatever but my metabolism was so good that my weight only ever moved by lie 3lbs. Now thats not the case (hence I got up 13lbs). I made the mistake of weighing in this morning. Probs not the best idea. Once a week on the same day each week is the best option. I need to get back to my cross training workouts. :S

Oh it's definitely a lifestyle change. Trust me I hear you on that... I am a large advocate for a healthy diet and exercise.  I didn't lose 125lbs using pills or shakes or what have you.... and I didn't lose my weight in 30 days!

But I have yo-yo'd for a long time and I have struggled with my weight since my early 20's and it's more than just saying 'it's a lifestyle'   There is so much more mentally to it than that for those with weight issues!  It's a complete mind game.    I seem to go in extremes from scale nazi to food nazi...  I thought I had found my place, I had maintained my loss for 2 years -- so much better than the 1-2 months I had done in the past - but life got in the way of my little routine I had as a single mom.  I got a boyfriend, then I got engaged and I needed to redefine how it was going to look and I just didn't :(

I know I can do it, I have done it before, but I need to figure out this time how to make maintenance work long term.  Losing weight is a whole lot easier than maintaining it, that is forsure.

It is good @@yycbride2016 that you can spot the fact it is harder to maintain your weight now so you don't end up at 280lbs like I did (mind you 80lbs of that was pregnancy lol)... It's a lot easier to keep in check before it gets out of control.

So true! I know losing 13lbs is not the same as your amazing accomplishment of losing 125lbs (Congrats btw thats absolutely amazing). My FI and I always watch extreme weight loss every tuesday and it's so amazing and the fact that these people can maintain their weight loss is amazing. But they also say that on the show that it is the hardest part of weight loss. So true. Our bodies change as we get older and that means we have to learn to adapt and change what we knew worked in the past. I have confidence you can do it and make it work. If you have the support system you can do it! I'm positive!

Ohhhh 13 lbs is amazing too :) and I can say this as I work to get my 20 off. Nothing is an easy feat. So any success is huge!!! I agree I blew thru this the first time, like it was almost too easy! Def the body changes and I'm learning this. But also have to make changes realistic for you. When I first started I think I ate too little. I wish sometimes I could have a do over but I have upped my calories over the years even in weight loss mode.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
