I just got married at the OGX  . Maybe I can help you with some details.

Tip # 1 – Make sure your coordinator is Luz.  She is super super accommodating.

Tip # 2 – Request that your guests stay in buildings 19, 20, 21.  These buildings are close to each other and surround the snack bar.

Hi emmapalmer!!  Thank you for the reply.  My fiancée and I were engaged there in November and I just love it there. Good thinking about buildings 19-21. Perfect spot all close to food and the swim up bar!

The coordinator that emailed my Travel Agent is Carolina. Not sure if I can switch?

How many people did you have at your wedding? What package did you go with if you don't mind my asking?

Oh and congratulations on your wedding emmapalmer!!! So exciting :D

It’s lovely that you are getting married in the same location of your engagement, congratulations!!  I don’t know if you can choose the coordinator. Luz was the first to communicate with us from our initial enquiry and that is just who we stuck with. We were super super happy with her planning and execution of our day.

We didn’t have a standard package. Instead Luz created a custom package do to special circumstances. The ceremony was held at the cabana although we really would have preferred it at the ruins ( we were past the guest capacity for this site ). We had almost 80 guests attend, we brought our own minister ( family friend ),  and brought our own photographer ( Decordova Photography / www.decordova.ca ), and my girls made the bouquets.

What package are you looking to get?

If your guest list is 30 ( I think ) or less you can request the ruins. It’s really beautiful!!!

Not knowing how many guests we'll have stinks! lol. We are inviting 80-ish, but who knows how many will actually be able to attend. The gazebo is gorgeous is gorgeous, and was the initial reason I really wanted to get married there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
