Yeah I know. I looooooove coral and so glad I chose that colour. It's going to look awesome up against the grey. 7 more weeks when we leave. I can't believe it's getting so close.

I love your colors. I thought of Coral because I love the summery look it has but Juan doesn't look good with any orangy colors so I decided against it (even though he wouldn't be wearing a coral dress haha, but still)

Haha I think we'd all love to see Juan in the coral dress :P

Both dresses are great :)

OMG! You are so on top of things!

Here's my to-do list:

  • Find (& purchase) reception flats - (I already have my "wedding shoes" aka barefoot sandals for the beach ceremony)
  • Pick out (& purchase) Jake's wedding clothes and shoes
  • Finish ordering OOT items that we are going to stuff the cups with
  • Decide on wedding favors and order
  • Choose music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception
  • Purchase an alternative guest book
  • Get marriage license and get legally married at the court house (we are also getting legally married in secret)
  • Finalize our menu
  • Design place cards
  • Write ceremony & vows (both of use dislike the one provided by the resort)
  • Get my e-ring cleaned
  • Purchase gifts for moms and bridal party
  • Purchase starfish garland for wedding arch
  • Pick out a dog sitter

Am I missing anything? lol

You are doing fine. Have you made any appointments for tanning/nails/hair/eyelash extensions/waxings etc. not sure what you are getting some, but making those appointments now would be a good idea just so they are made and out of the way.

We are on the same timeline which is great. I have our marriage liscence and the appointment is booked with the officiant the week before we leave. I am glad that's decided on too.

I am not on the ball most times I just don't know how long these things take for booking and what not and wanted to make sure it's all taken care of.

You seem to be doing fine also with it. Oh I need parents gifts as well. I have no idea what do to there. Wouldn't even know where to start to look for gifts for the parents. Do I get one gift between one set of parents? Or buy four gifts, one for each? Any thoughts? Or suggestions on gifts?

We decided to make photo books for our parents after the wedding :)

Kim girl. Why aren't you a wedding planner? Haha

That is seriously a wicked idea. Where did you get the photo books. Did you tell them before that's what you are getting them?

I haven't made them yet.  I have been looking at different options for the best prices, etc.  I have seen groupons for Photobook Canada, which have some nice layouts.  Costco does them cheaper but not as fun of layouts.

No, they have no idea they are getting them. I didn't get them anything for in Mexico ... my family isn't like that, so I think had we have gotten them a gift they would have been shocked.  I am not sure what the standard is on that either -- do you get them a gift if they helped pay? We paid for our own, but nonetheless, we thought the photo book was a great idea.

@@kcole123,

@marriage license - I guess I need to look more into it, but I thought we could just go down to the courthouse with paperwork (no appointment) and that would be that.

@BeautyRegimen - I made an appt for my hair and make-up for the wedding day. I am skipping the tanning bed (maybe a spray tan a week before?). For nails, I plan on going to a salon as I walk-in and getting gel polish a couple days before we leave. Waxing - I'm too much of a wimp. Eyelashes - I've read that they can really damage your natural lashes, so I am just getting temps for the day of the wedding.

@parents' gifts - I have seen it both ways (4 separate gifts or 1 gift per couple) and I think it depends on preference and situation. Both of our parents are recently divorced and neither of us have much of a relationship with our fathers, so just our mothers will be attending. For my mother I am getting her an embroidered hankie with a quote from "I'll love you forever" because she always read that book to me. As for Jake's mother, well, she isn't American and her culture isn't as touchy feely, so I am struggling bit with what to get her.

@photobook - I have had a lot of friends do the photobook for their parents and they used Shutterfly. Their books turned out beautifully.

I am anxiously awaiting my dress fittings and for things to come in the mail.

Do you know if those stickers that you ordered for your cups peel of rather easily?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
