I'm 6 Months Out...what Should I Be Doing?

Don't sweat the small details. In the whole grand scheme of things they don't matter. I wish I had never stressed about frames, vases and signs for the bar, etc. No one (including myself) noticed they were there. The beauty of your location is all you need :)

Oh really? That makes me feel better because I really don't have anything like that planned and I was starting to wonder if I should. But if you and your guest didn't notice them then my guest won't either :)

It was nice to have my guestbook table stuff and some small centerpieces, don't get me wrong but I stressed HUGELY over them and it wasn't necessary. Just do what you can, what you have room for, etc. The beauty of Mexico goes a long ways :)

I had the glow sticks and funny open bar sign on the bar. No one saw them as the servers were that good. Funny - they actually thought the glow sticks were straws. Hahaha I realized that quickly when I saw one in my friends drink so we just handed them out :)

those would be some amazing straws!! haha

This thread helped get my butt into gear. In the last week I finalized my centerpieces and our sweetheart table and I decided what kind of accessory I'll be getting for my hair. Next: bridesmaid dresses (hopefully I'll get that sorted out this weekend). I checked out a bunch of places and I've narrowed it down to two, maybe 3, so that hopefully makes shopping a little easier :)

@@TinkerSofi I'm glad this helped you too!  It's just overwhelming thinking about everrrything you should/could be doing, but it's easier to break it down into little manageable pieces.

I was super overwhelmed a couple of months back when I got back into the planning but that's what I had to do, just break things up and start planning! haha

@@rachelia160 So, I went to check out a few places for bridesmaid dresses to kind of narrow it down. I don't know if you bought yours yet, but some stores were telling me that right now it could take around 5 months for them to arrive! Ah! this is turning out to be more dramatic than finding my dress haha. Mind you, my dress find was so unexpected that even finding the groom's suit is turning out to be more dramatic hahah.

@@TinkerSofi Where did you go for bridesmaids dresses? I found mine at David's and my girls who have ordered so far received them in a month! I'm just asking them to order them by the beginning of March for my June wedding just to be safe. If you're worried about time, I'd say that's the place to go, but I think all places tell you longer than it'll actually take just so they're not liable if it takes a little longer than normal, so I wouldn't stress about it.

I'm DREADING finding my FI's outfit, and even more so his groomsmen's outfits..finding something they all like, getting them into whatever store to try it on, then having them get around to actually buying everything....they're all so lazy that I feel like it'll never happen. I'm definitely more stressed about their clothes than any of the dresses, including my own!

I'm going to a local place here. I found they had more variety than David's bridal and the prices were about the same :). It will have to be done next weekend though because I have to work this saturday :(. I was thinking of giving them an earlier date as well just in case :). Places ranged in the amount of time they gave me, even David's bridal said about 4 months.

I went to Jessica & Belle Rykiss. They had tons of really nice ones and a lot at around the $150-170 price point. I think you can get even cheaper ones at David's bridal but the color they had wasn't exactly the one I wanted. The Jessica place had the color exactly :)

Awesome. I've never heard of it :) I think we paid $160 at David's.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
