How To I Handle This Friend Situation

Recommended Posts

Eh, we fight like sisters so I didn't take use of that word to the level that I should've, in the moment but I let her have it after that. There is no reason to ever call someone that, I don't care what the circumstance is. It's disgusting. It gets me angrier the more I think about it.

She knows that her 'free' room is being released from my room block in the next few days. I only gave it to her because I love her and didn't want her staying in some disgusting, rat-infested hotel elsewhere because I know that's all she could afford.

When she tells me she booked her ticket, I'm probably going to tell her then that she's going to have to book her own accommodations, that I was happy to help her out but after the language she's used I don't feel comfortable doing so anymore.

Depending on how you're feeling in a few days I would prob give her a heads up before you release the room since she may not decide to come thus not wasting money on a flight. But that was horrid of her to say so maybe she had it coming.

Ouch. I hate that word too. It really is disgusting. lol My hubby used it for the first time ever last weekend. I've never, ever heard him say it and he was referring to some wacky broad not paying attention while she was driving and almost hit us! lol But I was so stunned I hit him!!! lmao Not hard of course, just in the arm. But I told him I didn't care what the circumstance was that I never, ever wanted to hear him use that word every again! lol Sorry - it isn't funny but I'm laughing as I'm typing this! I agree - it's the most vulgar word out there.

They know that if they don't give a deposit (because I want to cover my butt in case the loser bf doesn't come) within the next few days then the room is getting released. Last night she texted me to confirm the deposit amount and I just answered coldly and didn't say anything else. Her ticket is almost entirely on miles - she needed $75 to cover the difference. I haven't given her the money - now out of principal - and she can't do anything as far as arrange transportation until she comes up with that cash. FI was livid. He's like 'so now we're actually paying her to come to our wedding?' I think if we didn't know she was paying for someone else's shower, buying BM dress and all then it wouldn't be quite as much of an issue.

    • When it comes to your Wedding Clothes, it's pretty normal to be flooded by numerous choices that are available in the market like clothing style, pattern, fabric, and colors.  Absolutely, I liked this dress and I will never miss wearing this outfit for the wedding. Thank you for sharing this post.
    • Hi guys! Thank you for sharing the valuable information. Some students think, “How do I write my book review?” and are confused by this sort of task, and others are happy to do it and enjoy the writing process a lot. Such a difference in perception and attitudes is caused by the ambivalence of this task.
    • Hi All, I have just gotten in touch with a TA and we are in the process of getting quotes for our wedding in either DR or Mexico. Now she said something that I wasn't  aware of and I wonder how others handled this as I just can't believe that we are the only one in this situation. We feel we are asking our guests already a for a lot to come a long way to our wedding (our guests come from Canada and Germany) and there are a few that wouldn't want to miss it (like my partner's brother) but they just don't have a lot of money. Our budget doesn't allow us to chip in for flights and accommodation so we are basically asking everyone to save up money for our big event. Now we are planning the wedding at a resort that I know some of our guests can't (or don't want to) pay for. We were hoping to find a place where guests have the option to book themselves a cheaper hotel or an AirBnB nearby and only come to our wedding. Our TA told us that the resort might not allow that or only for a limited percentage of our guests. That is terrible news for us! I think that a good 50% of our guests will also stay at the resort for one, two or even three weeks but how can we 'force' other people to stay at the hotel of OUR choice?  I get that the resort would charge a fee for day guests and obviously we expect to pay for food and drinks but I didn't know that we would have to agree to a certain percentage of the guests staying at the resort. I don't feel we have control over that. How do others handle that?
