@@SusanMarie813 - Where did you have your welcome dinner? Was it the night before your wedding? Did you pay $28 PP?

Our Wedding party (with their dates) is approx 35 people - our wedding coordinator said we can't make reservations until we arrive. Did you have trouble making reservations for your wedding party when you arrived? I am worried restaurants will be sold out especially on a weekend night.

We paid $28pp we did it Friday most of our guest arrived Friday. Our wedding was Sunday. We did it at Las Dunas.

When I booked everything I was able to make my reservations prior. They may not do that anymore. That was for 20 people and it was our bridal dinner.

You have to make reservations for all your dinners (for large groups), I found that when we went to restaurants with more than 4 people they always had trouble seating us because they don't like moving two tables together...

When I arrived at Finest I went to the concierge right away and asked to speak to their restaurants/food manager, his name is Javier. Depending on when your weddings are it may not be him anymore since their staff changes a lot.

I had 4 large family dinners (about 26 people) during our stay a couple weeks ago and Javier was able to set up all my dinner resos. There is a private room at every restaurant and for large parties like that they give you a pre set 4 course meal with 2 options in each category (appetizer, soup/salad, main course, dessert). These dinners were part of the all-inclusive so I did not pay for them.

The resort does not supply beach bags. I brought my own OOT beach bags for each guests with a wedding day schedule and little bottles of sunscreen, aloe etc..

I asked if the reception staff could give the bags to my guests as they check-in but they wanted to charge us 4 dollars per bag so we ended up giving it to my guests ourselves.

@@Pixistick Thanks so much for the info!! I will definitely head to concierge as soon as we arrive. Our wedding is on a Sunday and we arrive on a Wednesday.

When we did our site visit in Sept, we saw a cute little private room in the Japanese Restaurant - did you dine there? It looked so cozy and cute with everyone sitting on pillows.

Thanks for the tip about Beach Bags - I love that idea for welcome bags. Do you recommend an affordable place to order them? Also you only give 1 welcome bag per couple, right?

Did any Bride ship their decorations?? I am considering DIY'ing the centerpieces bc they are so pricey!

Your welcome!

I never ate at the Asian restaurant besides going for the tapanayki, that room seats 14 people and they only do reservations at 5pm. All the other times are walk-in only.

I had my private dinners at the Italian, French, and Mexican restaurant.

I ordered my bags from Vistaprint.ca. I got the small bags and they were a really good size. A lot of my guests used them as beach bags so it was perfect. They came to be just over 5 CAD per bag. I ordered my wedding day schedules and made custom menu cards for the reception through Vistaprint as well. I filled the bags with little travel products I picked up from Walmart.

I gave one welcome bag per guest. But I probably could have done one per family/couple because we had a ton of luggage going down.

I didn't ship anything. Ordered all the centerpieces through the resort. I had 35 people at the wedding and 5 tables. I think I spent an additional 420 USD on flowers.

I had a flower girl as well, if you are to order the bag of rose pedals its gonna cost 60 USD. What I did was I took all the roses that they leave in your room the first night from my friends and family and kept the roses in the fridge until the day before the wedding and detached all the pedals for my flower girl to use.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
