Anyone know if you can request a large group dinner reservation prior to arriving and if so how & who is the best person to contact? I want to set up a dinner for 18 of us the first night we are all there...

Thanks for the party schedule! My wedding is on a Monday so I guess we'll miss the white party but no biggie.

@@lizzjameson Is your wedding at Dunas?

Mine is on a Monday as well, and at Dunas. Does anyone know if the white party is directly in front of Dunas or if the resort holds it further down the beach?

Update on the photographer - was not able to swap out the services. They held firm which is unfortunate. I also tried to give my included hair and makeup services to my mom but the spa won't allow any exchanges (which is surprising considering it's the same services at the same time, just on a different person) so i've requested the services for myself for the welcome beach bonfire instead. They haven't responded yet but i will let you guys know what they say.

It's really a shame, I feel like the resort is really nickle and diming us every opportunity they get.

@@emmycita I also failed at being able to transfer our included photo services t the night before. They will NOT budge :( And we are spending over 25K! They aren't willing to offer any discount on anything. Luzdary my original WC told me that the beach party is directly in front of Las Dunas. Maybe since your wedding is Monday they will change the White party to Sunday that week?

Can you please tell me a little bit about your Beach Bonfire? What does it include? Smores?? How many people? What was the cost? I am considering doing this instead of the Mayan Fire show in case the beach is already doing a Mayan show for their beach party.

@@lizzjameson Unfortunately they wont let us make any reservations big or small until we check in. They advise to meet with the concierge as soon as we arrive to set up any reservations we need. It's really annoying they won't even let us make reservations beforehand so we can tell our guests :(

Does anyone know what restaurants are open each night? It seems like not all of them are open everyday - Do they at least keep a good variety of them open every night? I know my guests are all excited for the food :) Myself included.

@@lizzjameson @@mexiwedding oh i really hope they adjust the schedule. It would not make much sense to have both on the same night, that's two DJs/bands playing within a few meters of each other.

@@mexiwedding The beach bonfire doesn't include much. Just marshmallows. No drink service is included so we're just going to ask everyone to grab a drink at one of the bars and come down to join us on the beach, and keep it very casual. It's $350USD flat rate for however many people you want (we'll have 34) and we are having it at 8:00pm. We're doing it because we have different flights coming in on different days so we want to welcome everyone officially once everyone arrives.

@@lizzjameson Good luck with your wedding, keep us posted as to how it went and if you could share some photos that would be great! Mine's similar to yours and will be just two weeks after :)

@@Maurindy2016 yes, i had to pay extra. she sent us a bunch of options and the prices varied depending on how much you wanted the lights to cover. We chose the biggest dance floor she offered which was 6 m X 6 m and lighting and that structure w/ the curtain things to go around all ten tables. The price on that ended up being $750 for dance floor + $1,800 for the lights and w/ taxes, it totaled $2,958 (remember this is for may 2015). The lowest one offered was $2,088 which had the lights covering a smaller area so I think it just depends on what you want.

So I'm going through my final To Do list before we leave on Friday and thought I'd share some info I just passed on to our guests. I'm not sure how it works with every carrier however:

If you plan on using your cells while you're in Mexico make sure you call and advise them you're traveling and need to update your acct so you aren't charged additional fees.

I just Took care of our AT & T accounts and was advised that by calling we now have No fees for:

unlimited text

unlimited calls

unlimited wifi usage

no roaming charges

and

1GB of data per phone while we are away

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
