@@mexiwedding sorry for the late reply! Our schedule is as follows:

3:30-4:00 Photos of Guys getting ready and then head to greet guests.
4:00-4:30 Photos of Girls getting ready and bridal portraits with fresh makeup
4:30-5:00 Ceremony
5:00-5:30 Champagne toast and group photo of everyone at the wedding
5:15-5:30  Family and group photos
5:45-6:45 Cocktail hour

7:00-11:00 Reception

I'm curious about the decorations that you were told are included for the ceremony:  rose pedals, seashells/starfish OR candles - what package do you have? We have the Gold package, with the Dunas light up promo but Viviana never mentioned any of this...

@@SusanMarie813 How did you get the photographer to swap out the photo package for Trash the Dress? I inquired with both Viviana and the resort's photographer directly and they were firm about not being able to swap it out for anything other than the included ceremony photography.

Also, I noticed several questions about what everyone's doing for group travel arrangements and thought i'd share what we did: We are using a travel agent who has booked the entire group in with Transat Holidays. We got really good rates and Transat throws in a whole bunch of perks for group travel (such as 16th and 32nd rooms free) and priority boarding, dedicated in cabin storage compartment for the dress.. etc. Additionally, our group in flying in from two different destinations and Transat just made it all easy. The agent acts as a coordinator. She handles all the payments, communications, seat bookings, etc. It's a blessing not to have to coordinate 40 people's travel preferences!

51 Days to go!

@@emmycita the package was for 24 photos. I told them I had a photographer already and wanted to use my photos for something else. I said a trash the dress shoot. They had no problem. I went directly to the photo studio not through the coordinator. If they didn't do it for me I would have fought them on it. No where when I was getting married did the package state it could not be adjusted.

@susanmarie813:  From the picture above the lighting for the Sky Bar looks like it has color illumination.  Is that correct?  This is part of the lighting package that comes with Mannia DJ?  I was going to put lighting , but if that's how the place looks, I don't think I will get extra lighting.  My concern was that when it gets dark, you couldn't see the nice view of the resort.

What is your recommendation?

@@emmycita I love your schedule of a Champagne Toast and group photo. Did you have to pay extra for a champagne toast or is that included with our package? I really don't want to miss my cocktail hour so want to get pictures done beforehand as well. Where ais your ceremony being help? Are you just going to have the Officiant announce for everyone to stay at the venue for pictures or will you be meeting your guests somewhere else? (i.e. the beach)

We have the most expensive package (I think it is Gold??). We had asked them to sen us a picture of what was included with the Stone Gazebo decor and their photo included seashells so I followed up to ask what other options we had. Maybe you can try asking the same? Don't let them charge you extra for it!

I also agree with @@SusanMarie813 and plan to argue if they do not let us use our 24 photos for something other than the wedding day. We are hoping to use ours for our Welcome Fire Show the night before.

@susanmarie813:  Thank you so much for posting so much of your wedding details. It has been really helpful!

I was reading through your cereomony scripts:  So they minister performing the cereomony signs ur marriage certificate?

I thought that since weddings in Mexico was not legal, that I would do a courthouse ceremony in the states, and that they are the ones who are signing the marriage certificate.

Can you clarify this process?  And did you get married first before going to cancun?  Thanks.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
