We had 50 guests and the first day I had 12 people arrive and waited in the lobby to give the bags out. We wasted a lot of time. After that we paid for the delivery. Honestly this was worth it. They got them by 5pm check in date. You have to put the guests (all parties in the room) full name they used for there reservation. There are somethings I said don't waste money on. This was worth every cent. Jmo

We made all our reservations before we arrived. I had the private party so that was easy. The other night I had 25 people family dinner "rehearsal" but more like a thank you to our bridal party. They actually put us in a restaurant that was closed that night.

quote name="Pixistick" post="1910561" timestamp="1454697007"]You have to make reservations for all your dinners (for large groups), I found that when we went to restaurants with more than 4 people they always had trouble seating us because they don't like moving two tables together...

When I arrived at Finest I went to the concierge right away and asked to speak to their restaurants/food manager, his name is Javier. Depending on when your weddings are it may not be him anymore since their staff changes a lot.

I had 4 large family dinners (about 26 people) during our stay a couple weeks ago and Javier was able to set up all my dinner resos. There is a private room at every restaurant and for large parties like that they give you a pre set 4 course meal with 2 options in each category (appetizer, soup/salad, main course, dessert). These dinners were part of the all-inclusive so I did not pay for them.

The resort does not supply beach bags. I brought my own OOT beach bags for each guests with a wedding day schedule and little bottles of sunscreen, aloe etc..

I asked if the reception staff could give the bags to my guests as they check-in but they wanted to charge us 4 dollars per bag so we ended up giving it to my guests ourselves.

Did anyone book the Spa room to get ready in with your bridesmaids? How was it? Was there a place to hang all the dresses for a good photo opp? I kind of want to just get ready in my room with my BM's but wasn't sure if it would be a hassle to have to walk back and forth.

We used our room for me and the BMs. My husband had a private room for him and the groomsman but it's based on availability. So our second option was his parents room for them to get ready. We had a swim out room so it was nice we took photos on our patio too.

For those of you who used the spa for your wedding hair style did you make an appointment ahead of time or once you arrived?

I made all my spa appointments before hand. We did a spa day and I emailed them and set up reservations. Then for my hair and make up I also set up mine and bridal party as well before hand. They were so great to work with and I thought they did a great job.

Hi Finest Brides!!!!

I have a few questions for those of you who have already had your wedding - CONGRATS!!

1. What does the wedding coordinator help you with on the day of? SHE organized everything. Getting the groom there, the guests, and us. She also made sure the tables were done with what we wanted setup etc. very hands on the day of.

- Will she help tell your wedding party when to walk down the aisle and coordinate the ceremony timing? Yes

- Will she tell guests where to go for cocktail and reception? Yes

- Will she help you set up your guestbook or table centerpieces? Yes

- Will she help hand out programs? Puts them on chairs

- Will she help you set up the seating chart? No you need to pre plan this and give her your seating cards.

2. Did you need the wedding coordinator present for your wedding rehearsal or did you just handle the rehearsal and order of operations yourselves? No rehearsal they walk through with you everything on your meeting date.

3. I was told that the resort would charge $160 for 30 sparklers. Do you know of any other cheaper ideas forthe bride/grooms exit? IS this price pretty standard? Look on one of my posts I found someone local and my WC went to the place and picked them up. I paid her directly in cash when we got there. I was so thankful.

I am trying to determine what all I need to do on my wedding day to help set up and what is included. Trying to be as stress free as possible on the actual day. The day of was very stress free. Honestly everything was pretty stress free once we arrived.

Thanks so much!!!!

86 days for me!!! And I am definitely overwhelmed. They just changed our wedding coordinator from Luzdary to someone names Yanin. Has anyone used Yanin?

Is anyone else using the Ballroom for their reception? We originally wanted Sky Bar but since our wedding will be over 100 people we are worried it might be too cramped for people.

I am nervous about how my hair and makeup will turn out since I have hd bad experiences with people not knowing how to do Asian makeup very well or making me look like a clown.

67 for me! Looks like i'll be right in between you two :)

The planning has been interesting. I have Viviana as a coordinator and unfortunately as sweet as she may be, she's just not very helpful. I'm doing almost everything on my own and having to pay a lot in extras.

After reviewing the in house photographer's work, I opted to hire an outside photographer. Luckily i found one that does great work and has been so helpful. He's helped me adjust the timing of events to work with the sunset so we get the best lighting conditions for the photos.

I also decided to hire outside stylists to do hair and makeup. The spa sent me a list of strict rules for using the bridal suite which included no alcohol and a maximum of 4 people in the suite, so i decided to have hair and makeup done in my suite instead so that I can relax with my bridesmaids and family.

We're having our cocktail reception at the sky bar and the reception at Dunas.

Can someone clarify what gets settled when you arrive at the resort? It just seems like a lot is left up in the air at the moment (like seating chart, etc..).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
