For The Canadian Brides..... What Did You Think Of

the new "Say Yes to the Dress" that premiered last night????

I'm sorry but I just have to say that it was cheesy! I Did you see the tiny little size of the dressing rooms??? How the heck are you supposed to get into a wedding dress in that small closet sized room??? Absolutely love my Friday nights with TLC and SYTTD both New York and Atlanta. I find canadians talk so much about hating the US and things they do, but how come they spend so much time copying TV programs?? Big Brother. The Bachelor. Amazing Race. And now Say Yes to the Dress! lol

The canadian version somehow just didn't measure up. Definitely like the US one better!

Did you watch?

I've honestly never watched the show ever. Not a big tv fan except the odd show so I usually don't have cable either (I get a free special here and there lol). Anyways I was just chiming in to say that no show we copy off the USA ever stacks up. Most pale in comparison. :)

I'm also a big fan of SYTTD, and had no idea they were making a Canadian version.  Is it on TLC?  Or on Slice or something, like the Canadian version of Four Weddings?

It's actually not in Toronto but nearby - it's based out of a big bridal shop north of the city in Woodbridge!  I was expecting Kleinfields too when I first heard about it.

The budgets for the Canadian ladies were much more realistic, but I have to admit I like watching the crazy 10k gowns come out sometimes :P

I'm also fairly certain I tried on about 3 of the dresses the brides tried on haha

I was surprised too that it wasn't out of the new Kleinfelds at The Bay! Soon as I heard about it that's what I figured. But it's actually out of a salon called Amanda-Lina which does carry a decent selection if you look online at their website. They carry Ronald Joyce and he has some beautiful gowns! The sad part is the pricing here. Things are already more expensive and by the time you had another 13%......

I did happen to watch it the other night when it was on. I have to agree with you @@acw271011, I found it was cheesy and I just could not get into it. I will not be making it a regular show that I watch. I will stick with my Friday night pjs, chips, and SYTTD US style.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
