Riu Santa Fe Wedding Anyone?

Recommended Posts

Cabo is beautiful! We almost ended up at Sante Fe years ago, but ended up in Cuba instead. We regretted that decision but never mind. We made up for it with 2 other visits to Cabo and love it!!!! We've heard a lot about Riu Santa Fe just from a travel perspective and it's still on my bucket list of resorts to go to. There is so much to do in Cabo! The shopping is great! And Cabo Wabo is a super bar. We did the whale watching tour and loved it. Make sure you take dramamine if you don't have sea legs. The water gets choppy. The arch is spectacular up close. Get pictures for sure. We've never taken the time to go to that beach to swim but we've heard that its worth it. Find a little cantina (there are a bunch) on the marina and get a bucket of beer and watch the people go by. Fun.

Good luck ladies, and happy planning!!

Thanks so much!! Have you been in close contact with the wedding coordinator? I hear so much about resort coordinators being hard to communicate with. Where are you flying in from? We are coming from Victoria, Vancouver, Kelowna and Toronto. We are hoping to get a few free seats. Did you get any free and if so what did you do with those freebies? I have so many questions lol.. I  appreciate any feedback you can give! Thanks :)

@@Victoriabride I just email her with any questions. She typically responds within a week. We are all flying from Philadelphia. We had our guests book their room and flight through apple vacations. Each guest got about $100 off their room fee as long as they booked the Apple flight. We will be getting comps back from the resort. Not sure how much it will be yet but we are using that for wedding costs and we are paying for my sister's room.

thanks so much for the information! we 100% have decided to go with the Santa Fe..it took me forever to choose a resort! The Santa Fe seems perfect for our needs! Most of us are flying for the west coast of Canada so its a shorter flight. The beaches look beautiful there too! Good luck to you with planning.. you only have a few months to go!

We are having the semi-private dinner at El Torete Steakhouse. We have 74 guests total so we didn't really want to pay per plate for food. Also, I think with having so many guests we will be taking up the majority of seats anyway. We are then having a reception at the Tequila Bar. We are having a DJ and paying for an open bar per person. Our dinner is 630-8 and the reception is 8-11.

thanks for the info again! I emailed  them a week ago with questions but still haven't heard back! Its making me anxious as I want to get everything set up asap so things don't get all booked up! how far in advance did you have this all decided on? We don't have a date picked yet, but are hoping Jan/Feb 2016... I feel like I'm running out of time here!

I think you are okay time wise! We booked the wedding date 1 year in advance. I don't think I had the reception or anything really planned until this fall/winter so like 7-9 months in advance. I would definitely choose your wedding date soon though to ensure that you get the time you want. I believe there are 4 time slots to choose from. Keep in mind weather and what you want for dinner/reception plans when choosing a time!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
