Go Pro Video Camera

Recommended Posts

the go pro has the chest mount so that would be good. There's no way I'm wearing a headband with a camera on it hahah and I think my fiance would look pretty ridiculous too. I like the idea of the officiant wearing it, because then you see both the bride and the groom :)

My FI has one that he takes to the race track. We have the Go Pro Hero 3 Black. We're planning to take it with us to Costa Rica. We're planning to take some accessories with us... tripod mount for the ceremony and we'll use the headband mount for ziplining. Personally, I wouldn't use any other mounts (chest or head) if you want to capture the ceremony. It'll be too much of a distraction.

@@nadiakat17 you're right! there is a bike mount so you might be able to use that on a chair, or a flat "helmet" mount and put it on the altar (ps: is it called an altar if it's not a church? I don't know haha). Sorry guys I had a super long day yesterday and didn't get a chance to take pictures of mine. I'll try and do that today.

We take ours down to Mexico every time we go so we're going to have it, we might as well use it for the wedding :). I don't think we'll buy the go pro now as we have too many expenses and we already have a similar camera, but for those who can spend the money and who will actually use it later I suggest you get a go pro. There are pros and cons to each, we chose ours because it has better quality when there's not a lot of light and the color of the video is more vibrant, but the downside is the amount of mounts. I should check and see if they've come up with any new ones.

I'm not sure the difference between the 3 and 4. I know that with the most expensive one you can control it via wi-fi with your phone. The sony actioncam, the one we have, has  an app too so when we're not in water we use that to control it. That way you can actually see what you're filming and make sure the angle is right.

I finally got a chance to get some pictures of the camera. This is what it looks like without any mount or the waterproof casing. I used a Magic Mouse from apple for size reference. post-265511-142067744465_thumb.jpg

And this is with the flat mount I was telling you guys about that you can easily put it on a table. Now I would try to get one like this that would work without the waterproof casing. Othwerwise you definitely will not be able to hear anything. post-265511-142067781093_thumb.jpg

I'm trying to fix my iPhoto to see if I can upload one of the videos we took.

I was also looking into purchasing a GoPro or some other video device for our wedding in Cabo in July! We are going to opt out of the professional videographer. I love the idea of video clips throughout the week with our friends and family! We probably would not use it again so I wouldn't want to spend too much on it. Let me know if anyone comes up with a good one to get!

@@TinkerSofi do you know the model of yours and would you recommend it? Thanks!

@@jenna32schap It's an older model to the one they have available now online. It's the one with wi-fi. It's actually one of the first models that sony came up with, so I'm sure the current one is excellent. I would recommend it. Sometimes we think we should have spent the extra money and gotten a go-pro but I went into their website the other day and they have some new mounts that could come in handy. That was really the only regret, the go-pro had a lot more variety in terms of mounts. I definitely like the quality of the picture, and the sound. I think picture-wise it's better than the go-pro, which is why we got it.

I'll try again today to post some sample videos we took. I have to edit a few, it seems my fiance says inappropriate things all the time hahah (funny, but innapropriate), and some are just way too long. I was too tired for editing last night

We have the hero3 and you can control it and see live shot from your phone so you can set it up and get the right angle- and then start/stop from the iPhone by someone nearby. I may enlist a guest to push start for me!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
