Go Pro Video Camera

Recommended Posts

Has anyone used one of these for their wedding week? I'm thinking of buying the cheaper Model to take video during the week and possibly have brothers friend record our ceremony ( video is not worth it to me to pay for professional but nice to have ) wondering about the sound and video quality, or if there were other cheap cameras that are better. I suppose I always could use my iPhone

We have a sony action cam and if you're going to use it later I suggest you spend the money and get the go pro. We decided to get a cheaper action cam but it turns out sony doesn't have as many mounts, which kind of limits the possibilities. We use it quite a bit when we go snorkeling or snowboarding, and we want to learn how to scuba dive so that will be another chance to use it :)

Another thing to keep in mind is that usually when you use the waterproof casing the sound is a bit blocked out because the casing has to cover the microphone as well. I don't know if I'd risk going to the beach with it out of the waterproof casing. I'm not sure how good the mounts are for the go pro without its casing. The sony one has a casing that is not waterproof and can still be used with their mounts :). The sound is good when using that mount. I'll try taking some pictures after work to show you.

My fiance is set on getting a Go Pro as well! I just added it to the budget :) We also are not paying a professional to video the wedding day. I figure we'll have pictures of that (and we'll have someone record the ceremony on a regular video camera). But how fun to make a video montage of clips from the week to share with our guests?! We think it is worth the cost versus a professional for the wedding day.

He is in charge of this so I'm not sure which model he is thinking of getting, but I can report back on what he decides :)

We were thinking of getting a Go Pro too!  We decided against a videographer to save money, since we'll have the professional photographer.

I love the idea of making a video montage of clips from the wedding weekend @@beckys98!  Our ceremony spot is very windy so I'm assuming we wouldn't be able to hear anything no matter what kind of video we use, but I'd love to have clips of everyone enjoying the resort, at the reception, etc. My fiancé will most likely be in charge of this as well, I'll let everyone know later on what we buy.

We got one for Christmas and can't wait to use it at our wedding. I ordered a bunch of extra mounts on Amazon so that we can be really creative with it! It seems super fun!

Love that idea of making a highlight reel of your wedding week!!! Ohhhh the possibilities. So who wears it at the wedding ceremony?

I saw a video where the officiant had it on a neck harness so it filmed the ceremony in an intimate setting and you could hear him clearly.,, and watched as the bride walked up the aisle.

I threatened to make the BM where it as a head mount! Haha

My son wore one on his helmet when he did one of his car races. I had to stop watching because the speed was so real it was making me sick! I don't know what the model was though. The clarity was pretty good but I can definitely see where wearing it might be a problem for some people! lol If you get a hand held I think it would be a good substitute for a videographer as long as it's someone with steady hands.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
