Sunglasses For Oot Bags?

Recommended Posts

I was going to put tumblers in my OOT bags but now decided to explore other options. I thought about doing fun sunglasses for everyone. I found this website where the glasses seem of pretty decent quality. I don't expect the same quality as the originals, but I do want them to have UV protection. We can also personalize them if we want to! I was super excited, until I read a post on weddingbee.com with people saying that they only use expensive sunglasses, etc. I don't expect people to keep wearing them after the wedding, but personally I lost one pair of really nice sunglasses when I was just chilling in the water (like waist deep, nothing crazy) and a wave got me haha. Also, about 85% of our guests are in their 20s and another 10% in their early 30s, so I think they'll like them. I just think they'd be fun.

I was wondering what you guys think? Would you appreciate them if you got them in your OOT bags?

This is the website by the way

I think the sunglasses are a great idea. And that style right now in various colors are a total trend. I say if that suits you and your group more, go for it!!!!

I bought the bridal party each a cheap pair solely for picture opportunities :) pink and blue!!!

I think they are great! You can never go wrong with sunglasses. I ended up breaking mine last time we went to Mexico so an emergency extra pair would have been great :) . I think your guest will love them :)

Thanks everyone! I think it's time to ask the fiance about his opinion. He was never crazy about the tumblers to begin with so I think he'll choose the sunglasses. I agree that it looks like a lot of fun on pictures to have a bunch of different colors and on that website you can choose different colors for the same order, which is a lot of fun.

The fiance will have the last vote, but I'm pretty sure which way he's going to sway ;)

I vote yes after reading the broken sunglass post lol...def would be useful if that happened. And I only wear expensive ones too except on vacation I bring a few $20 pairs bc df has lost the expensive ones in the ocean as have my parents lol

I agree, I always bring cheaper things on vacation and leave expensive jewelry at home.  I don't want to bring my wedding rings but don't have a choice this time LOL!!!

Our guests really loved the sunglasses.  We picked up a lot of cheap fun ones at Ardene. I can't remember the price offhand but they were cheap. They were kind of plastic ray ban style but in bright colours so they were obviously cheap (which I liked - didn't look like fake real ones).  Our guests loved them and everyone was rocking them all week, esp. because the ocean water was really rough at times and people lost their good glasses!  We also got kid ones in the $1 bins at Target - big hit :)

Well, when I told my fiance about them he was on board right away, just like I predicted haha. So we actually ordered them :). I'll take some pictures when they get here. We went with personalized ones so we wrote our names and the date of our wedding. We also got them as favors for our other reception in Argentina. They'll all have our original wedding date but I think that's ok, even if the people in Argentina will get them later. We bought 115 glasses and paid $1.26 each. Not bad at all.

I lost my original Ray Bans in the ocean, and then another cheap pair the year after that. I guess I never learn. I still miss my ray bans :( but at least I learned my lesson to keep my expensive things at home or in the room at least.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
