Palmtree99's Planning Thread...7/29/15

Thanks everyone! I can't believe I leave in 6 days! I'm the worlds biggest procrastinator so I still have SO much to do.

Guestbook:

instead of doing a traditional guest book, we are going to have everyone sign their name on a shell and put it in a vase. This way we can display it in our house. I got the vase for $3 at Michaels and I hot-glued rope halfway up it. Filled it halfway with sand and then everyone can put the shells in. I figured the shells would be scattered on the table in front of the vase. This is the vase full of shells:

Table numbers:

We have 31 guests so we only need 3 tables (two of ten and one of eleven). For the table numbers I got 3 white frames - sand pattern scrapbook paper from hobby lobby, and stick on numbers!

I also ordered us these toasting glasses from etsy:

To do:

Assemble welcome bags

Whiten teeth!

Wax eyebrows

Figure out ceremony music and assign someone to man the iPod

Buy speakers for reception music

Pack!!

Cut out all of the place cards

Buy a new bathing suit!

Figure out makeup (having a friend do it)

Love the shell guest book idea!!! I wanted to do something like this but others tried to talk me out of it. Plus I was unsure what to use to write with on the shells. Now I think I'll revisit doing this.

Enjoy!!

  • 3 weeks later...

I'm officially married! My wedding was crazy but all in all it was an amazing day. My husband (weird to say that!) fainted twice during our ceremony which made for a lot of drama. I will post more pics of decor and such later, as well as lots for sale. :)

Oh wow - what an adorable couple you make! And congrats on being a Mrs! Poor guy - he fainted twice???? Definitely you need to pass on details. I'm sorry - I was busting my behind to get work done and get away for vacation just when you were getting ready to leave and I didn't wish you the best then.

Absolutely post photos as soon as you can. Your dress is gorgeous!!! And suits you perfectly!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
