Direct Flights From Jamaica For Honeymoon?

Recommended Posts

Hi! We're starting to look at our honeymoon for our June 2015 wedding and wondered if anyone had any genius ideas of places we could fly to direct from Jamaica? Our original plan was to go to Peru/Machu Picchu but it would involve at a minimum 10 hours of travel to get there in the middle of the night - back to the U.S., then to Lima, then to Cusco. It is just a bit much!

Does anyone have experience with, or ideas on, where we can fly direct to from Jamaica? We want to avoid another Caribbean island, since that'll be where we just came from. That is why we were thinking South America. And we want a unique and memorable experience. I tried just googling where we could fly direct to from Jamaica but I couldn't find that information easily, so I thought I'd throw it out there on here!

Thank you @@beckys98!!! I thought we were the only ones not staying in Jamaica for our honeymoon  :)  We considered flying straight from Jamaica but logistically it ended up working out better for us to fly home Sunday night (do laundry and repack all day Monday) and then leave Tuesday morning for Hawaii. It's going to be a little crazy but well worth it!

Have an amazing time wherever you decide to go!

Ooooh, nice, @@Soon2beMrsJ! My fiance grew up in Jamaica so, while its perfect for our wedding, it doesn't feel very "honeymoon" enough to him!

I think Panama could be cool. We've heard great things from friends who have visited. But I think if Peru is REALLY what my fiance wants to do than it make sense to just do it later in the year from Chicago. If we're going to spend money and vacation days on something, might as well be what he really wants! I'm leaving it up to him ultimately :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
