Eye Lash Extensions - Yes Or No?

So did you have them done? The lash extensions?

@@malyna

Would you get them done again? I am nervous about my lashes ended up shorter than they are but they do grow back, it will just take a while I suppose. Why couldn't I be born with voluminous long lashes, I wouldn't have this problem now...lol

Maybe I will book an appointment for January? I could have a couple of fills before the wedding. Question though, the more fills you get the more damage to your natural lashes?

No I haven't, but I have had next to no eye lashes so fake ones that *could* trash your lashes aren't something I am comfortable with. Back in 2010 I bought waterproof mascara and then I started losing all my lashes.   Once I realized it was the mascara and I switched to non-waterproof I was ok, but it took forever for them to grow back.  I had to use a thick black eyeliner to give the impression they were there.

I think it's a prescription serum that you put on your eyelashes to make them grow.

I'm currently using this Rimmel Lash Accelerator Serum that you can get at drug stores that some people swear produces the same results, but I don't think I remember to use it consistently enough to vouch for the results yet, but I'll try to be better about using it every day and report back!

Ohhh now that you say that a friend of mine swears by this medicine you put on your lashes. She asked me to get her some from the Pharmacy in the Cancun airport. I should ask her what it is called, not that that helps us in US/Canada but maybe you US ladies have access to it.

I found that the eye lash extensions did do a number on my real lashes. :(

I also thought that my first set was probably the best as far as results. I won't get the extensions for my wedding because of the damage. I am either going to use a set of mink lashes or individual lashes for the big day. They make really natural looking sets that my brides love!

Avoiding the mascara route because of crying (I'm a baby, so I am sure there will be TEARS) lol

Now I am torn on what to decide.

Another thing to consider with the eye lash extensions (and what most people like about them) is that you have a more finished look for all your wedding events without having to worry about your mascara running (rehearsal, photos by the pool, etc.). One less thing to worry about. When I did them, it was prior to a vacation. I loved that with a tan and the extensions, I didn't really need make up. You are not supposed to get them wet though (like submerged), so that is something to consider also. Hope that helps

Latisse is medical grade syrum and it works amazingly! It's not cheap.... But probably the same as extensions with one or two fills.

Hi Girls,

I am now 4 months out from my wedding. I am really considering getting eyelash extensions done but should I try getting them done now and keep getting them filled or wait a little longer until it's only like a couple months away from the wedding? Also I am a little scared because I have heard people say before that the eye lash extensions make your real lashes shorter and more sparse. Is this true? I don't have a whole lot of natural lashes there to begin with.

What do you girls recommend? Have any of you had an experiences with lash extensions - good or bad?

Thanks ladies,

Kristy

I have mine done but I have had them for years now.  LOVE them.  My sister who is my bridesmaid had them done for the first time last month and we leave on Jan 25 2015  It does take a little getting used to.  She has had them for 2 weeks now and absolutely loves them.

@@DorisEacott,

So do you continuously get them done? I am really considering more so of getting them done then not. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and give them a try. Worse case is the look after the wedding, but I won't be so concerned then, just let them grow back out again(my natural lashes)

What do you mean when you say "take a little getting used to"?  What's the hardest/weirdest part about having them on?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
