When To Give Bridesmaid Gifts?

Recommended Posts

Hi-

I am planning to give my 2 bridesmaids gifts that include makeup, bottle of wine, flip flops. I would have liked to give them to them on the day of the wedding, but that way they wont really get to enjoy the presents during the trip, since we leave 2 days later. What are you guys planning to do? I was also thinking just adding them to their OOT bags that we plan to give when people arrive

Either the day before we leave or the day we arrive. I'd rather them haul it there than me given how much we have to bring already but we will see. Very least the day we arrive. Fiancé doesn't want to give out at welcome party as it singles out they got more but I think it's a given and noone would mind. Haha we will see but I'm hoping for before we leave.

Tough call! I wouldn't worry to much about it! I know it's easy for me to say but honestly, I would give it to them before you go. Much easier considering you have wine.

If you change your mind about the gift (something easier transported) , then I would give it to them the day of.

I think you can bring 3 or 4 750ml bottles thru customs but I would worry about weight or the bottles possibly breaking and staining materials.

Either way you cant go wrong!

Oh perfect! And from what hear the wine selection has significantly improved over the last few years in Mexico!

Well then I would give the day of wedding. It might be that you haul it around a few more days but I think it's worth it.

They will appreciate receiving it on your wedding day.

I know it's off topic but what is the normal amount to spend on your bridal party gifts? I've only been in one wedding (my sisters) and she made us home made quilts. I'm not that talented so I'm buying my gifts. I'm just not sure what is a exceptable amount.

I was thinking before we leave. I have 4 BMs and was thinking of a cute tote bag, monogrammed towel and other stuff I haven't figured out yet. I already got them wet bikini bags and make up bags. That way they can use it for the trip and I don't have to lug more down there.

Since I only have two, I was probably going to spend near 100$ each bc I keep thinking of new ideas lol. I'm doing a bottle of wine with a life vest to go around it ( designs for wine bottles too cute) , flip flops , bracelet, necklace, earrings to wear for ceremony and a makeup bag with some makeup and nail polish in it

I spent about $80 each.

I got them a beach bag, make up bag, necklace & earring set & sandals for the wedding, anklet, frame with picture of us in it, compact, nail file, body butter, and odds and ends like that.

I also bought some bangles but I don't think they will wear them as they might be overkill with the other jewelry.

I have to stop myself from spending any more! It's almost addicting, just like all wedding shopping is!

I found some good deals on Etsy!

I am giving them their gifts a few days before the wedding. We are having a small get together at my house to review some final details etc. so I thought it would be a great time to give them out and also make them responsible for traveling with the items. I have so much to bring! Also, as mentioned above, we didn't want to hand them out at the Welcome Party and single out people. So...that's the plan!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
