Hello,

I have been researching resorts for quite a while and am seeing that many brides hire a travel agent to organize things.  I tried to do a few searches, but didn't find much up to date info.  I live in Chicago and am looking to have my wedding in Winter 2015 in the Mayan Riviera, Mexico (possibly Hawaii...) and would love suggestions for TAs.

Anyone use someone they loved for their Mayan Riviera DW?  Would you mind sharing their name? Reply here or my email is goldammerpayne@@gmail.com

ps if anyone would also like to share info about resorts for a small DW that was less than $5,000 for the ceremony and reception I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear about it!  And I love details....

Hands down Wright Travel. That's who owns this site and they are AMAZING AND KNOWLEDGEABLE! They have some of the best relationships out there and you can earn major perks with a lot of resorts when using them.

There is no one else I would even consider if I was in the States!!

Wright Travel definitely. I shopped around for TA and they were the absolute best. As far as resorts, it depends on what you want and are looking for. I am getting married at Moon Palace it's a Palace Resort. There's alot of useful posts on this site

@@goldammerpayne I am in Chicago too and wanted someone local that I could meet with and call anytime I needed them. I went with a local travel agency in Bartlett, IL, JDK Travel. They have been wonderful and my guests have nothing but positive things to say about Deb!

They are destination wedding experts and a total pleasure to work with.

As for a less than $5,000 wedding, my resort - Now Sapphire - can accommodate that. They have some free options and then some paid options and then some add-ons, but you could even do the highest package they offer for less than $5k so long as you're 25 people or less. After that (which is my problem) the per person rate makes the price skyrocket. But actually, you could add a DJ on to that as well (hire one externally) and still stay within budget. Plus they're great to work with!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
