How Much Are Your Guests Paying?

The hard rock (punta Cana) and the moon palace resort in Jamaica that has yet to open... Those are the only 2 that I've gotten quotes for so at first I thought, ehhh that's not bad, but when I get on here and see the price differences it makes me second guess it @

And it's near the end of May.... Doors the price your guests have to pay include airfare/7days? @

I've been getting quotes from my TA and they seem a bit expensive! 800 pp for 3 days + flight to either Jamaica or DR... Does that sound high?!!!! (Family is going to fly from ATL/Clev)

Yeah those quotes are a little expensive {in my opinion} for only three nights.  However considering the locations, that may be the going rate.  We originally looked at Punta Cana and Jamaica but due to nigher rates, we switched to Mexico.  We were quoted something similar for a resort in Punta Cana for three nights.  Our guests are paying ~$850 for 4 nights and airfare {booked separately} to attend our wedding.

If your heart is set on Punta Cana and Jamaica reach out to other TAs who specialize in those areas.  Some have a "relationship" with different resorts which could result in lower rates.

@@AyeWatSoon where are most of your guests flying from? That rate is awesome! It's all inclusive? How are the wedding pckgs at your resort? I may have to keep reaching out to see if I can get a better rate. The TA that I'm working with now just gave me that feeling (you know the one!) and I just knew she'd be able to find me something. @@calgarybride2015 haha that sucks for me I guess I

@@Cablelove11 We are all traveling from FL. We chose Now Jade, an AMResort because we always stay in one of their "adult only" properties when we travel to the Caribbean. We consider them "family".

Their packages are reasonably priced in my opinion. Starting at $2999 and includes 24 ppl.

Check them out!

A little off topic, but I was wondering if you have put any thought into what you and your fiance plan on doing with the 'free 11th person' money?

My fiance and I have 2 free people so far and we have very mixed feelings about what to do with the money. Our TA gave us a couple options, but none of them seems just right. At this point I am thinking about taking half of it and putting it towards one of our trips, and splitting the other one between the rest of the guests. I cant help but feel guilty for keeping it...any of it really...

The first free person is going towards paying for my grandmother to attend as we were paying for her anyways. If we reach a second we would probably have it pay for one of us since we are partially paying for my BIL as well so any bit helps!

Hey, can i ask who your travel agent is?!? I'm from TO as well & have just started looking for one. Thanks

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
