Riu Palace, Cabo Wedding Review November 15

When the bridal party entered the reception, I had them each introduced while the DJ played Black Eyed Peas, I got a feeling. Then my husband and I were introduced to Heavy D and the Boyz, Now that we found love. After a few seconds of us dancing, he transitioned to our first dance.

I opted to not have a father/daughter and mother/son dance so that we could all get right to eating and dancing. I feel like each of those little things just takes time away from the party when we also had to stop for the fire dancers at some point as well (but that was just our opinion and how we wanted it). You can work out with the DJ which traditions you want/don't want to do and the corresponding songs. They are are willing to do whatever you want!

Spotify is free (or you can pay to avoid commercials) and it's an online radio-type of program. You can sign up through your facebook account. But its nice because you can make playlists (and keep them private if you want) and share them with other members. I asked the DJ if I could send him my list that way, so he gave me his user #. You could also send your list the old fashioned way if you don't want to make an account. I just found it to be the easiest/fool proof way to share which songs/artists i want played :)

Congrats on you wedding and your wonderful experience. I'm new to the forum and I have finally locked in my wedding day May 28, 2016 at Riu Palace. There's so much information. We have decided on the Royal package and I debating on where to get my hair/makeup done. Being that I haven't made 150 post yet I'm limited on views if you have any pictures I would gretaly appreciate it. bnr2780@@gmail.com

@MelissaH113 Thank you for sharing detailed review of your experience. I have been officially nominated as a bridesmaid and will be assisting my bestie in planning her DW in Mexico for 2016/2017. She is thinking of Cabos, and likes the thought of doing it at the RIU. If you don't mind, I or we may need to pick at you with questions based on your experience at this location. Ty. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
