I know that are tons of threads about having a legal marriage at  your DW location and also about having a symbolic wedding.

 

We are getting married in June 2015 and my vision has been to have my BFF who is also a children's pastor marry us.  I realize this wouldn't be a legal marriage if she performed it.  We would still need to do a city hall wedding.  

 

this my sound silly because I'm about to reference a Friends episode...but I wanted to know if there is any way to do a legal marriage performed by your own officiant similar to how Joey married Monica and Joey.  (yes, I know I just referenced a fiction situation). 

 

Ideally we want to do the legal marriage in Mexico.  I would like to see if there is anything we can do to get officiant up to par with the requirements in order to  make it legal or if we should just forget this idea.

 

If we do the legal marriage, I believe that it is done by a judge.  Would the judge be offended if we had our officiant take over the sermon part.  I really don't want someone who doesn't know us to conduct our wedding.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
