@@Moni240 Thanks so much for that feedback. All the dates I wanted are booked at Iberostar Suites so now I'm looking into Royalton, Moon Palace and The Hyatt. If anyone has any info, pics etc. on these hotels please share as it would be a great benefit to myself and others.

So ladies...since we are all getting married in 2016 I am sure we have all been getting busy on the planning-front. Where is everyone at in the planning process? Have you found all of your vendors yet? Your dress?  Ordered invitations yet? Lets rally and share some support and resources with each other.

I have my venue confirmed at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites for August 6, 2016. Just decided on my photographer and travel agent and am preparing to launch our website and electronic save-the-dates next week. I am also planning to DIY save-the-date magnets and passport invitations (with a little help from my dear bridesmaids). I have not really looked for my dress yet though I have a general idea of what I would like, taking into account of course that Jamaica in August will be nothing short of ridiculously HOT!

Curious to hear what some other brides are working on...

Hello all,

I'm getting married at the Royalton White Sands in June. I have my dress :-) and photographer. I'm trying to figure out will my DJ be traveling with us as a guest or will we go with the resort DJ, or my ipod. I sent out my save-the-date email/evite in August because I wanted to give my guests as much notice as possible. I have a wedding website set up as well and try to put updates on there.

I'm really trying to figure out welcome bags and décor right now. It looks like we'll have about 100 people so I want to be cost effective but not cheap, if that makes sense. Also, I refuse to pay $40 a table cloth at the resort so I bought my own online from linentablecloth.com.  For flowers, I'm going with satin flower bouquets from a seller on Etsy - HeyBouquet. I ordered a small sample from her and it's really nice so I will use that as my toss bouquet.

I'm making my own brooch bouquet. I've collected about 30 brooches so far and plan to buy a few lots off ebay or etsy.

That's all for now, I'll check back in soon!

I too am getting married at the Royalton in May. I have done the following:

- Save the dates

- Dress - Woohoo!

- Guest deposits all made

- Wedding Bands

- Photographer

I decided before I started planning that I would tackle one item at a time. I have a very demanding job and don't want to be overwhelmed. I want to enjoy the entire planning and not stress or dread. I am currently working with our florists for our floral for our centerpieces and bouquets. I too am having a broach bouquet done.

I haven't decided on table clothes either. Tinren - what kind of table clothes did your order? Have you received them yet? I am afraid of ordering table clothes and them being too heavy to take with us.

We are using the hotel DJ. I've researched and found their preferred vendor. I can give you the company name if you would like. I have it written down somewhere at home.

@@Lisa35, sorry for the delay in responding, I was on vacation. I ordered the 120 in Navy Blue Polyester table cloths. They came about 5 days after I ordered them. They were very good quality and I don't see any problem with being able to sell them after the wedding. I don't think they're too heavy; less than 50 lbs so I'm just going to make someone take them as their 2nd piece of luggage, lol.

I'm nervous about the hotel DJ, I see mixed reviews. The DJ we were using is a family friend so he was supposed to be coming to the wedding anyway but he hasn't booked yet so I'm not depending on him. I downloaded the wedding DJ app so I may use that or get mixtapes made at home.

Hi ladies. What is everyone thinking of doing for their table centerpieces? I don't want anything too extravagant but do want something that will dress the tables up a bit. I also am thinking about some nice tableclothes. Also candles, perhaps some of those "fairies" lights and lanterns. I really want to have glass vases but do NOT want to have to haul them all the way down there and potentially risk them getting broken, too heavy etc. What have y'all come up with?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
