Finest Resort 2015 Bride!

Hello All!!

 

I'm super excited to announce that I finally selected my destination!! Finest Resort in Playa Mujeres is my resort of choice. I'm super nervous since it will be opening  in Feb 2015 and I'll hopefully be getting married there in July 2015.  The great thing about this resort is that it's apart of the Excellence Group which I've heard nothing but great things. Now for all the fun and overwhelming things that come next! I don't even know where to get started. Does anybody have any insight they can share as far as photographers, cinematographers, etc?!

I went to excellence riviera last year which is awesome. Excited about finest and that it's not adults only, but will be similar to the excellence resorts. Did they give you some prices? I'd love to have an idea for the future. Travel agent wendy wrote this recently- she could probably help you.

"Hi, I just took a hard hat tour here while visiting a few weeks ago. It is going to be wonderful! They are also offering some really great pre opening specials for wedding groups! PM me if I can answer any questions or check pricing for anyone. This is going to be a very popular resort and best to book early!"

Hi - I received our wedding confirmation letter over the weekend from the Finest and we will be getting married there on May 30, 2015!   I'm uploading the wedding information that they sent me.  We haven't made any decisions on wedding packages yet and are working on a group room block right now.  It is a little bit nerve wracking that it is not yet open, but am feeling confident that it will go smoothly because of the other resorts in their family.  If not, oh well!  Haha.  

 

As for wedding/videographer, we are probably going to hire someone locally (my fiance and I are based in Washington, DC/Arlington, VA respectively) and fly them in.

Congrats!  How much in advance are you planning to pick out your package/options?  Have you already done this?  I think we are going to do a site visit after it opens so that maybe we can do some of this stuff in person.

I am trying to make some decisions as soon as possible!

We are going with the Gold Excellence Package and are having the legal wedding - that has me the most stressed out! It doesn't sound like there is that much paperwork other then the birth certificates and the tourist cards - unless I am missing something?!

Yes, I think we will do the Gold Excellence Package too.  We are doing a symbolic wedding.  It does sound pretty straightforward to do the legal wedding, but we decided to go w/ the symbolic for a couple of reasons - I had heard or read that it can take awhile to process the paperwork afterward, so there may be some lag time (I can't remember exactly the details I saw/heard on this) and we also want to have our own officiant.  I'm sure there are some threads on this somewhere on this site.

I'm so excited!!! The pricing is really reasonable from what i've been told. Once I get more info I'll share!

We actually changed the date to November 14, 2015! Still super excited waiting on my travel agent to send me room descriptions and rates so that my fiance and I can book. My travel agent went to Mexico and is super excited about this property. Even though it's a new property, I feel very confident with what they will bring to the table since they're an excellence property!    Are you ladies working with Theresa ( Wedding Coordinator at Finest)  as well?

Next week going to Mexico.  Beloved and Finest are on our list.  We are meeting up at Beloved.. we will see if they give us a tour of Finest or show us anything.  If so I will take photos etc.

Congrats all!  Yes, I am also working with Teresa.  I haven't communicated w/ her in awhile.  I think I mentioned that we are planning to do a visit in March after the resort is open to make a lot of the decisions.  Does anyone know of options for children for the reception? i.e. do they have a kids menu for dinner that is not as much as the $45 add up cost?  We also picked a photographer.  Originally thought we would fly someone in, but decided to go w/ someone local and are going w/ M&J photographer -- we Skyped with them and another photographer, Elizabeth Medina.  We liked them both a lot, but ultimately decided to go w/ M&J.
