How Hot Will It Get During The Ceremony

I am getting married at the end of March in PV. I had wanted ceremony at 5 pm til 530, then cocktail hour or so, then dinner starting around 7:15, which is sunset. That gives us a decent time period for pics. My FI is deadset against any first look things. I would rather not do first look, so I am cool w this, plus I want our photos at sunset. However my wedding planner is really questioning this beach ceremony at that time, she says start at least at 6 pm so it is not quite as hot. That gives us hardly any time for pics. I am wondering how hot does it really get out there? I don't remember. We will have raffia fans.

My wedding is in the middle of February and I was going through the same issue with my photographer.  My FI and I will not do a first look either, so we moved our ceremony to 5:00pm to give us enough time for photos since the sun sets at around 6:30 in February.

 

A good site to look at is https://weatherspark.com/averages/32587/3/Puerto-Vallarta-Jalisco-Mexico. According to the site, I don't think it will be overly hot, but it's kind of a crap shoot.  As for sunset it looks like sunset in PV at the end of march runs around 7-7:15, so I am not sure if starting pictures at 6:30 will give you enough time, as our photographer told us to budget around an hour for photos.

I say go with your gut and original thought. Part of a destination wedding is the heat, and honestly the ceremony is for half an hour.  You don't want to be stressed about not having enough time for pictures which are the one thing you take away at the end of the day.  Sometimes even with the humidity it is hot at 9pm at night, so really I don't know if the hour will really make a difference.

Agree 100%. I get helping the guests with the heat but you also need photos and such and there is only so much time for those.

I am marrying at 3pm in January. We lose sun at 530pm. No nice sunsets like the PV side. So once it's gone it's gone. I had originally said 330pm but if it starts late we are rushed.

Like said above it's 30-60mins and they can seek shelter if need be. In my pre travel brochures I reminded them they couldn't get back to their rooms and to bring all amenities, hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc. Our location is secluded though.

We are at 3pm too! Our ceremony space is covered as my FI will grt super hot.

It's gonna be hot!  We are getting married at 4pm in June and it's soo hot.  

 

I get swollen in this weather so I'm going to need to figure out how to avoid this.

Our ceremony is 4:30 on Feb 23, cocktail hour 6:30, reception at 8! We were there exactly a year before the wedding and I picked 4:30 because at 4:00 the sun was still on the gazebo, and I didn't want guests to get hot :-) Hehe I'm a bit OCD..

My ceremony was at 515 but we started late, probably 545. Our ceremony was at dusk, but the time it was over it was black. I wish we had done it at 430/445.
