Selling New Wedding Dress Oleg Cassini Size 10

Recommended Posts

I posted my dress on Tradesy.com today.

It's New, Oleg Cassini CWG482 size 10.   Mermaid Flare, Lace and Tulle.  Freakin' gorgeous, but according to the Wedding Gods and Goddess' it's not for me.

Went shopping for a Halloween costume... ended up buying an 80's wedding dress, that I am totally obsessed with.

I bought it for $970, selling for $650 OBO.  Has NOT been altered in anyway! I'm open to lower prices.

Please check it out :)

If anyone has any suggestions on other places I can post my dress aside from preownedweddingdresses.com let me know :) I'd like to sell this baby before my wedding day! My 10, 2015

Oncewed.com and ebay. Where are you located? There is a bridal consignment shop near me. Maybe you can find one in your area. I plan on stalking them regularLY to find my shoes

I was contacted by a consignment store. Its just a bummer that im losing so much money :( oh well.

I should of listened to all the has been brides and NOT spent so much on a dress

Is there anyway you could wear both? One to ceremony and one to reception? That way you don't feel like you lost A LOT of money and when you do sell it you can accept less than you may have wanted because you know you've worn if?

I'm really not "that" girl who does things that.  My new dress is seriously, all I need.

And if I were to wear my Oleg, it would cost me $450 to alter it to my body.  It's a waste.

The consignment store gets 50% of what I sell it for, so I'm just crossing my fingers that it will actually sell, so I can use the money towards the photographer or something else. :(

This is a picture of my vintage, Jessica McClintock, that I purchased at the thrift store for $25... aka, my dress that I will be wearing for my wedding    This isn't a picture of me.  I actually feel that my body does the dress a bit more justice than the model.  It fits tighter, and I'm a bit more curvier.  I will be altering the sleeves, but leaving everything else alone.  This picture also makes the silk at the bottom and on sleeves a bit of a cream color, but it's white.

I'm so in LOVE with it!!!!

@lydiasusi I would probably wear both. I spent $1200 for my dress for my 6/16 wedding. I have loved this dress for a year. I also love the Galia Lahav style dresses, but I know they are wayyyy out of my price range. But, I have the dress I wanted and if something else comes up at least I have a choice and can always sell the other. You may have better luck selling when it comes close to wedding season. Also, try craigslist.

Have you tried posting it to preownedweddingdresses.com ? I check that site all the time to see if any of the dresses I like show up on the site. I'm sure there are lots of brides that do the same thing. Might be worth a try.

I had considered it.... but, there are several of the same dresses, for cheaper, due to them being for sale for months.

I am going to go with consignment :)

craigslist is so sketchy too.   I've already got a scam email :/   Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
