I certainly agree, from an industry point of view, that the keratin complex is the way to go for any type of straightening treatment before the big day.

In regards to hair extensions, I agree that clip ins are the best way to go. I find that any of the above mentioned (glue, tape, sew) can damage your hair while the clip ins are versatile, especially if your looking for a certain look for the big day but dont necessarily want a permanent look.

Sally's are okay but I do find the quality lacking and the look is not as organic as the better brands.

My personal favorite are bellami extensions. http://www.bellamihair.com/

I have worked with a few different types and I am always pleased with the results. They are a bit pricier but hold up to heat and look SO GOOD!

I have purchased a set myself... I will try and attach a photo

So, I am a big weave wearer.  I recommend genesis virgin hair, genesisvirginhair.com I typically order the Peruvian straight. The hair is a nice quality and affordable. You just wash it like you would any other hair and then have it installed whichever way you want. It blends nicely. Brazilian is a more silkier texture and Peruvian is thicker. I plan to order Brazilian wavy soon. The hair can be colored, bleached, holds curls nicely, whatever you choose. I just wash it and give it a good deep condition.

I do not recommend buying hair from Sally's. If you are near a local Beauty Supply store, I would recommend "Remy Saga" or "Remy Saga Gold" if you are looking for something cheaper, I recommend Outre Human Hair.

The beauty supply store brands can also be found online at hairsisters.com

Hope this helps

P.S.

The hair used for sew ins and clip ins, glue ins etc. is all the same it's just how the hair is installed. For example, you can buy a bundle of hair and sew it in, or have it cut so that it is glued in, or you can have it cut and sewn to a hair clip/comb to make clip ins.

Personally for my wedding I bought the real hair clip in extensions in London Ontario at a shop actually run by Jamaican women!! (Was ironic for me since we were getting married in Jamaica lol) My hair dresser told me about it since it is the BEST place in my area to buy hair haha. I have very thin blonde hair, so I definitely needed to have extensions! I bought the clip ins because you can take them out and last a lot longer, so you can get your money's worth They are also the real hair which you can dye, cut, or bleach which is fantastic. You should wash them in cold water and do not put wash out conditioner on them, have to use spray in conditioner. Hope everything works out for you!!

@@IzzyDeee My sister lives in London - where is the shop you're talking about? I'm trying to grow my hair for October and my hairdresser said I can figure on roughly half an inch per month. It's doing well so far, and I figure I can get about 2 more inches by the time we get to Mexico, but it would be good to have a back up plan with the extensions. Would you share approximately what they cost? Also, just wondered - where did you get your veil? It's really pretty! I'm not sure I want that length but I like the style of it.

How long is your hair now? Being the bride who also grew her hair out you'd be shocked what they can do with hair that just fits in a ponytail :)

It is called K-Laba on Wellington road in London Ontario. If your hair is anything like mine it'll look thinner the longer it gets. I found with the extensions it definitely gave my hair stylist more to work with and play with. I paid around 120$ with tax (I had thrown out the receipt so it was around there).

I got my weighted veil from sew stylish wedding works in ingersoll Ontario; it's also where I bought my wedding dress and jewellery, as well as the bridesmaids dresses. It's only that length because I put it under all my hair, if I had placed it above it would have been 6 inches shorter (by the time it went over my bun).

Hope I've been of some help!!

No that's OK. If I do a veil that's the style I want. underneath like that. I really like the edging on it. thats really pretty but I would prefer a bit shorter in length so that underneath hair it won't be quite so long. I might look up the store.

Kim it's actually just past my shoulders now I think. it curls though so it's hard to get exact but yeah just past my shoulders. And if I can get another inch or 2 then they should be able to do something with. not sure I want it up. thinking half up half down. had it up when we got married and I hated it.

They have tons of different styles to choose from! I picked mine because the weighted beading didn't look tacky like some others I had seen at other bridal shops, and it matched the beading on my wedding dress beautifully. Good luck!

@IzzyDeee  how is their pricing? I've heard some of the Ontario ladies say that going outside of the Toronto area is a money saver, and I could always tie it in with a visit to my sister.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
