So I'm seriously considering getting the "tape in" hair extensions prior to the wedding because of my fine, flat hair. My stylist said she will install them for a decent price, and they are said to last almost 3 months after installation. I was thinking of having them install about two weeks before and have them colored the same time. I also bought a groupon for a Brazilian Blowout, so not sure when I should do that (before or after the hair extensions)

Has anyone tried these? How many weeks prior to the wedding did you have them placed? Were they annoying? Worth the cost?

Discuss.

If it's a genuine Brazilian blow out, I would stay clear. They were banned shortly after coming out in canada due to the toxic nature of the product and the harm it was doing... There are safe versions out which do the same thing, but are focused on keratin. Just make sure it's not a true Brazilian blow out.

I am so hesitant when it comes to my hair...I trust my hairstylist to the nth degree and if you feel the same then I say go for it. I know my hairstylist wouldn't let me try anything that wouldn't work on me before the wedding.

I was and still am a partial hair extension junkie.

Tape and anything that actually bonds to your roots is terrible, and would make your hair even more fine.  I've reviewed tape since I was highly interested in it a few months ago, and the removing process looks horrible.  I did glue in extensions a while back, and I'm sure it was no better than tape.  Even though they make oils to help unbind the hair from glue/tape, it still tears your hair out by the roots.

If you are trying to encourage your hair to grow, I would go with clip ins, or get a sewn in weave.  I think clip ins would be more suitable for a destination wedding due to the humidity, and swimming.  Hair extensions aren't meant to be in water continuously.  So, if you're intending on wearing a swim cap to ensure your extensions are beautiful on your wedding day, then awesome.  Else, your extensions will dry out and be damaged.  It's dead hair, without any nutrients being transported to it, treat it nicely.

My hair has finally grown back, from a terrible "box dye" incident I had years ago to a long 20 inches :) I still wear extensions so I can get volume.  I will be wearing them on my wedding day as well, but clip ins.

Thanks for the insight! The other type I was considering was the sew in so maybe I will look into that instead :) I have done the clip ins, but just didn't want to mess with them all wedding weekend taking them in and out.

@@lydiasusi - did they sew ins give you headaches? I heard they can do this.

@@nadiakat17 - I got my clip ins from Sallys and they were very good quality :)

what is the cost usually and how much do you need? I was planning on wearing my hair long and curl it, maybe doing something up top to be able to put the veil in. I just wanted more volume. I have no idea how to go about buying these lol, but I will check out sallys

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
