You can hire any photographer you wish to, leeannes1, and don't need to rely on the one the RUI offers with their packages.

We advise our wedding couples that if photography is important to them, they'll be so much happier investing in a professional to capture your Wedding Day Love Story!!! After your Big Day, when it's all over and the guests have gone home, all you have left are your memories and your photos. Choose the ones that are amazing enough to take you right back to those magical "moments that matter", complete with all the feelings you have at the time!!!

Those are the ones you'll cherish for a lifetime.

There are a lot of poor photographers here and many of them call themselves professionals and work for resorts as their official photographer.

MTM has recently changed all the prices to accommodate couples who are working with a budget. So please have a look at the new prices and let us know if you'd like to invest in a professional.

To show you what we're talking about , here is a link to some photos taken by a resort photographer and a professional - showing what an incredible difference there is between the two:  Resort Photography vs a Professional's artistic vision + talent!.........with samples from that album:

Which one would you choose to capture the beauty of that moment and tell your Love Story ?

We're not saying you need to hire us, there are numerous professionals in our area, capable of capturing your wedding photo memories with remarkable style.

We are saying that if photography is something you value, you really need to invest in a professional to entrust with that responsibility!!!

Look for the one whose style resonates with you and touches your heart - that's The ONE for you.

Wishing you happy research, and all the best with your plans - cheers!!! team MTM :)

Leeanne, I was married at the riu palace Mexico last Wednesday.....it was amazing!!! We were married on the beach, and it is the most beautiful backdrop for a wedding. Our wedding planner was Veronica, and she was fantastic, she took care of everything and made sure the day ran smoothly.

We went ahead with the caprice wedding package, and opted to rent the el palmeral pool bar for our dance and reception. We did not go with the resort dj, we chose to hire a dj privately from Cancun, (we went with Ricardo at Disco Movil Cancun, and he is fabulous!! His mixes were incredible, every single person was up dancing all night!! Of all the weddings I've been to, Ricardo was hands down the best wedding dj.....I've been a bridesmaid 14 times, so I've been to more than my share if receptions). The only thing I would recommend is if you are planning on having speeches, if you can, do them during the dinner, and look into seeing about renting a sound system for them. We had 32 ppl, and saved the speeches for the dance portion so we had use of the sound system, and it really cut into the dance, especially since all private events at the riu must end by 11pm. That would have been the only thing about the day I would of changed.

The only thing is the riu does charge $250 for every outside service person you bring in, including outside photographers ( our photographer was a family friend who attended the wedding) and any guests not staying at your resort a $65 pass must be purchased.

Enjoy your day, let the wedding planner take care of everything, remember it is about you.

:)

Jen

Dear Leeanne,

I was just reading through some of the threads and came across yours again. How is the planning going? Did you manage to get hold of your wedding planner?

Do not be put off by extra fees that the hotels enforce for external services. Most companies that devote themselves to

giving the best service would cover the external fees in order to shoot your day.

Like people have said before, what you definately need  is a great connection with your photographer. Its super

important for the ebb and flow of your day.

Warm regards

Alexis

Congratulations on your wedding Jenluvsmark!! I am so glad to hear from someone who just had their wedding at the Riu palace Mexico! I am planning my own wedding for February 29, 2016. I haven't booked it yet because I am concerned about the lack of information. I am using a travel agent and when I asked her about all the extra fees associated with the wedding she said they (Riu) will only tell me this information after I've booked. This makes me very nervous!

I would like to ask you a few questions, if you don't mind?

The 65$ day pass - Is this for guests staying at a completely different resort or guests staying at the other Riu resorts? Some of my guests can't afford the palace and will be staying at the Playacar or Yucatan.

I really like the garden gazebo at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya. Do you know if I can book that one for my ceremony even though I am staying at the Riu Palace Mexico?

If you don't mind sharing, what was the cost per person for the private dinner? And did you rent the whole restaurant until 11? Is it big enough to accommodate 50-75 people?

If you have any price lists, documentation, pictures, I would be very grateful if you could forward it to me. My email is: melanie.noel07 @ gmail. Com

Thank you so much!! :)

Melanie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
