Travel Agent Response Time?

Yup and she is awesome.

 

Try calling her.. Could be a spam filter issue for sure. She also waited for almost a month on sunwing to get back to her on a query I had, so they are brutal and she may have forgotten they didn't follow up and let it slip- no excuse.. But it's so out of character for her to not be prompt in her replies! She is great on the phone.

I hear back from mine in about a day. I did have an issue where I wasn't getting her emails. I'm not sure what happen, but she did forward the original emails she sent showing she was replying. I started to email in a new coversation, not the one that got screwed up. Give her a call, maybe it's an email issue, if not get a new one! That's waaaaay too long.

I GOT A RESPONSE! A local travel agent here (the one who kept pushing the grand sunset princess on me) has finally gotten rates from Westjet! The perks aren't great, it's $450 credit for every 8 adults booked, but it's a start! I wonder if I could get LaurieLee to check into it for me now that I know the rates are released?

That's actually not bad. We got a free trip before taxes for every 17 ($1000 approx) so really yours ends up being better!

 

If this travel agent is working for you I'd just stick with her. If she stops pushing one resort, mind you. Quotes from airlines take awhile, I would give that turn around atleast 4-7 days.

 

Are you stuck on westjet? They typically are more expensive. Well from all my research they have been.

My quote from Air Canada made everybody transit through toronto and was a couple hundred dollars more expensive, and Westjet has direct flights from Regina and I believe London Ontario as well. I'd look into flying the Windsor group out of Detroit, but then we wouldn't have enough leaving from Canada to even get a group rate.

Ahh ok! what about Sunwing or Air Transat?  I would totally leave everyone in Canada as not only would you get the booking deal, their packages from Canada are more inclusive (transfers, etc. included to the resort).

@@calgarybride2015 Air transat doesn't fly out of Regina during November, and Sunwing doesn't have the resort we want. Looks like it will probably have to be Westjet.

Darn! well atleast you know and can work out the best options!  We only ran into one issue with our gateways - we chose Air Canada due to pricing then found out they didn't have direct flights to Cancun from Vancouver (wth right?) so all our Kelowna peeps have to come to Calgary, but the connector was only $125 return and that is pretty fantastic.

Thanks, @@Ellia123. I've finally heard from LaurieLee, she remembered emailing with me before, but didn't have any of the emails I had sent to her recently, so I don't know what happened there. I emailed her from my work account and she phoned me at the office.

Yeah I think that's weird too. I'm working with LaurieLee and she'll usually respond within a few hours of me sending her a message, even when I sent her the first email to meet up and talk about our options. Maybe give her a call?
