Just paying it forward. A lot of my confidence in the resort was from all the reviews from past brides.

What are your details? Palapa? Colors? Extras? Yay!!!! So exciting

We are doing the beach ceremony with apps and champagne after. We are then taking all of guests on a private 3hr sunset catamaran cruise instead of doing a reception at the hotel. I am soooo excited! Our color is coral...the bridesmaids are wearing these wrap dresses that I found on Etsy so I am excited to see what they look like!

Omg that's freaking awesome. I considered this at one point but husband said his mom is too scared of boats. Can't wait to see pictures :). Coral is a great color. That's awesome!!! The public beach is still a bit removed from regular beach so you'll appreciate that too :)

Sweet! I was wondering about that...where abouts is the public beach? Were there a lot of people around there? Did you see a wedding happen there?

It's off the main beach towards the spa. It's on the other side of the ruin if you've seen pics. People are over there but since there are no loungers I didn't find it bad. I'll see if I can find a pic.

@@meganstobo2004 Ok hopefully these help! In the first picture you can see the main beach and in the next one it wraps around towards the ruin.

At the ruin there is a lot of 'reef' there so you can't really get thru unless you walk thru 'brush' On the far side of that ruin, in the picture, is where the public beach weddings are ...as you can tell there is no loungers, etc. over there but there was some people there when we walked thru.

If by chance they offer you playa palapa for your ceremony, that is the private beach by the disco where the palapa is.

If they allow it I would jump on it, but unsure if they would charge you the golf cart services to shuttle the guests as it is a long walk.

ps - the beach wasn't as bad as it looks in this pic. Some areas were rockier than others. I didn't have any issues myself with going into the ocean, but as I walked towards where I took this first pic I wanted my flip flops on.

@@calgarybride2015  How far in advance of your wedding did you get lock in the rates from your TA? Do you know if the resort and/or flights tend to book up later since the place is so big?

I've received quotes from my TA for early April 2016 and they seem ok, but higher than I was expecting ($1,495 leaving mid-week). I like my TA a lot (she's amazingly responsive), but she's telling me that the Transat group rep is saying space is filling up and we need to book soon and I'm a little skeptical. The flights haven't even been released to the public yet and I can't imagine that many people are trying to book 13-14 months in advance!!

I just want to book things asap and get started on planning this wedding, but don't want to fall for a tactic and regret not waiting for better prices in a month or two...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
