Calgarybride2015's Planning Thread 15/1/21 Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya

My advice is just to relax and roll with the punches!  He should have followed up - that's a really long time to just assume it's going to get to you.  Here in the USA, they say 4-6 weeks.  If you haven't gotten it by the longest time, you call immediately.  It's the government, afterall ;)

Relax!  Try not to worry about the stressful other people.  At the end of the day, your HUSBAND :) and kids are going to be there.  You've done everything in your power to make it easy for people to go.  Don't feel bad if people screwed it up for themselves - you'll miss them if they don't go, but do NOT let them ruin your wedding day!

So excited for your wedding - it's going to be amazing!!

Well congrats on being married!! :) we actually just booked our officiant haha.

It sucks about your sister's boyfriend but it's really not your problem at this point. You have a 100 things you could be (and probably are) worrying or stressing out about so you really don't need this as well. It is really too bad but the second you book a trip you check whether your passport and papers are in check. He knew he had to renew it when they booked and perhaps he shouldn't have left it until the last minute. Just try to relax and hope for the best, don't stress out about things you cannot control.

Talking about nightmares, I dreamed the other day that it rained on our wedding so it had to be moved inside. I was so upset! aha. Then in the dream, I could rewind time to give the weather a second chance, and it rained again! hahah. I woke up super stressed to say the least.

Thanks!

Apparently he's been calling awhile as my sisters arrived but he didn't. They reassured him all was ok until yesterday. All they could offer him was the 24 hour urgent service but you can't apply until 24 hours before. So they are working on trying to do that!!!

Haha!!! Mine have been odd too. My monster had a uni brow and I was marrying in a bar. A couple nights ago an octopus man was chasing me :)

Let's hope it doesn't rain for either of us!! My forecast was rain free until I checked this am. Won't stress as it's outta my control.

ok that's good! Hopefully everything works out, crossing fingers here :)

Hahaha they are totally crazy. I had one one night in which I decided getting a half sleeve tattoo was a good idea haha (so not me at all) and then I was stressing out about what I was going to do with it for the wedding because it would look awful with my dress hahah. Nothing against half sleeves but if you knew me you'd know there's no way I'd ever get one :P

Sorry about all my autocorrects above lol

Hahaha I don't know you personally but you don't strike me as a half sleeve girl. I think they look nice but for a wedding would be hard I agree.

What shall we dream of tonight?

Shawn just asks I don't wait up screaming as I have before lol when being attacked by large spiders in my dreams.

Sorry to hear about the added stress. Probably the last thing you need right now. I know it is easier said than done, but try to not stress yourself out about it too much. At this point, everyone has paid for their trip I assume and it is not your responsibility to make sure that everyone took all the necessary steps to make it to trip they themselves paid for! It should THEIR priority, not yours. I am sure that since its your siblings boyfriend, it makes it all the more stressful but you have enough on your plate to worry about.

If it makes you feel any better I have been having dreams about all my hair falling out on the big day! Oh and walking down the aisle and smiling at my husband to be and all my teeth are gone!

Everything will be perfect Kim :) you have put so much energy and time into your wedding that now it's time to sit back and relax.

Don't worry about your single friend she will be fine, you have a big group of people so she will find someone to buddy up with and have a great time.

The passport situation is crappy but out of your control.

As for the crazy dreams, I think all us future brides have been having them, I think it's part of the progress. The other night i woke up and had to run to check on my dress. In my dream my father stepped on it and the whole bottom fell off, under the beaded part. So I got married in part of a dress and my white undies. I was mortified!

Haha I've had dreams where the ceremony is about to start and I haven't gotten my dress altered or my flowers. Last night I had a dream I randomly for no reason legally married someone I talked to once online and was trying to figure out how to anul it to marry my real fiancé!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
