Amarie4713 Now Jade Planning Thread

Recommended Posts

Hello!! I'm getting down to the wire now with the wedding and I wanted to start a planning thread to help me keep my head straight! My wedding is on November 21, 2014.

First off, my fiancé and I have been together nearly 9 years and we have an 18 month old daughter. We met several years ago while we were both working at the same restaurant and I guess you could say the rest is history! Shortly after our daughter was born we decided to make it official and get married. A destination wedding just made sense because we wanted a small, intimate ceremony. We only invited close, mutual friends and immediate family.

We have 16 people attending the wedding.

My OOT bags were by far the most work for my wedding. post-273400-14131692672_thumb.jpg

We ordered these bags off of vistaprint with a coupon. They ended up just a little 3.00 a piece. I designed that myself so you won't find that particular logo on their website!

I made oh s$*t kits and survival kits for the bags. post-273400-141316936267_thumb.jpg

These are made out of cardstock labels I made at home and ziplock baggies.

Oh Sh*t Kits:

Lens Wipes

shout wipes

Nail polish remover wipes

Insect repellent wipes

Sewing kit

Bobby pins

Safety pins

Survival kits:

Aloe

Chapstick

Crystal light

Dramamine

Ibuprofen

Antacid

Anti-diarrheal

Kleenex

I also put a small first kit in the bags as well. I just put a custom label on it.

I also have the following to go in the bags:

Gum

Puzzle books

Wet wipes

Loofah

Playing cards

I made key card holders as well...

I made small pockets to go in the bags to keep all the paper stuff together...post-273400-141316966829_thumb.jpg

I ordered the pockets online. They're just an invitation pocket and then filled it with stuff I made. I either ordered all my items from vistaprint or printed them at home.

I added a photoshare card for an app were using called WedPics and a sticky note pad that I was able to get from vistaprint for free with another order. post-273400-141316983644_thumb.jpgpost-273400-141316984606_thumb.jpgpost-273400-141316985683_thumb.jpg

I made small bouquets to go on the chairs as aisle markers that I'll be taking down with me as well.

And I'm taking chair sashes, table runners, and about 30 vases for the tables. I have paper lanterns to light and hang. We're doing our reception by the pool so I wanted the extra light.

The vases will fill with water beads and also be lit to help light the table!

I need to construct my programs still.

I will continue to add to this post as I get stuff done!!

Thank you ladies! Yes @@marinah84 I'm sure I saved a lot of money by doing it myself, but it was a lot of time!

I'm so picky about what the design that I wanted to do it all myself. Slightly controlling I guess :)

I used a publishing software on my MacBook. Studio publishing I think. Thank you so much. It's so great to get such positive feedback

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
