I am getting married in Bermuda, and we are going there by cruise ship. The wedding is on the island, but I really wanted to get professional shots of us on the ship. My venue is a 45min ride from where the ship is docked, so it would be hard to go there after the ceremony and before the reception. Should we see eachother before the ceremony to take pics on the ship? Or skip the ship pics? Has anyone else broken tradition?

There is a whole thread, recent - won't be hard to find - about seeing your groom before the wedding.  It's a 50/50 toss up on what to do. Some are, some aren't.  I would suggest doing it after your reception, but by then you would be exhausted and possibly sweaty (hehe).  In your case, if the two of you are comfortable, it wouldn't be a bad idea.   Let us know what you decide.

EDIT: here is the thread - http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/78037-seeing-your-h2b-before-the-ceremony-starts/

Thanks, I will look for the thread! I'm soo torn, I feel like, this will be my only wedding, it would be nice to see his face when I walk down the isle. But on the other hand, I would love pics by the ships grand staircase. After the reception would probably be best, but I'm pretty sure we will both look terrible then!

I totally understand 100%. We have decided that our reactions as I walk down the isle are the most important to us.

The only other thing I can suggest is that you do it the next day?

How long is your ship docked for? How long is your reception? What about doing photos separately, say with parents and wedding party , on the ship's staircase? I know some of them are beautiful. But are you docked that long that you won't be able to go back to the ship and do a few shots together on the stairs?

The ship is actually docked in Bermuda for 3 days, but if my reception is over at 11:00pm, and it's a 45 min ride back to the ship, I was thinking the ships photography will be closed. I would want professional shots. I wonder if I can arrange to have one of the ships photographers take our pics that late. I'm going to call their wedding department and ask..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
