I am highly considering a short wedding dress, since it will be sooo hot the day of the wedding, but I still have reservations. Anyone out there doing a short one also? Have pics? Or did you do a short dress and regret it? Ahhh..so many options!!

My dress is long, with not much of a train. With destination weddings, really anything goes. I know for me personally, I just love the long wedding dress look, no matter how hot it is!

Sorry, I have no advice. But I was definitely considering one (mostly because I'm short) as I was having a hard to finding gowns that didn't swallow me up and force me to do a ton of alterations. It will likely be an "average" of 93 when when I'm getting married. I ended up finding a nice, long chiffon dress that I love and I think I'll be completely comfortable in.

I was going to look into one, to be honest, but when I got to shopping it totally slipped my mind and I never asked to see one!

A lady on this board who married at my resort wore one and it looked great!

Anything goes!

I am only 5 feet tall, and never wear dresses that are floor length. A short dress is more me, I'm just scared I won't feel like a bride in one...

Have you looked into those ones that are longer in the back and shorter in the front.

I saw one the other day (thru photographer who did our family/engagement photos) and I thought it looked sharp.

the "high low" dresses look aweful on me! I'm only 5ft tall, and they make me look even shorter. :(  I saw a picture on Pinterest of a dress that is long for the ceremony and has a detachable bottom to make it short for the reception. I can't seem to find one anywhere though like that. Anyone heard of such a thing?

@palmtree99 I'm 4'11" so you're taller than me if that makes you feel better! :) I completely understand where you're coming from. I never wear long dresses either. But I got a Pronovias dress. I think most of their dresses can be order to custom lengths. I didn't have any luck with any of the other designers I tried on. I was basically told they would chop the bottom off and with all the material left over, I could have had another dress made. It's a struggle being short! :)

@puravida2015  I will look into Pronovias, thank you! Hah, I'm not taller than anyone :) Yeah, being short is the worst, makes shopping very tricky!

I am also 5 foot tall…and I never wear long dresses because lets be honest…they are all too long! lol However, I knew with pretty much any wedding dress I get I would need alterations…so I am not really concerned that it is too long because it will be altered!
