Waxing Newbie - Need Advice

Um...beauty necessities 100% factored into our travel plans and arrival day! Waxing, spray tan (I'm super fair), nails, etc. Despite what my fiance thinks...these are IMPORTANT details! :)

Fortunately I have very thin, slow-growing blond leg hair that I can get away with shaving 1-2 times per week.

But I am considering eyelash tinting. Where that whole thin, blond body hair does not come in handy is with my eyebrows and eyelashes. I dye my eyebrows but my eyelashes are super blond and not visible without mascara. It might be nice for the lazy days at the beach/pool where my picture may be taken but I don't want to wear a bunch of makeup. But I've never done it, so I'm not sure if it is worth it or not.

I got my eyelashes tinted when I went to Europe last year as I didn't want to deal with mascara in humid heat and it was sooo worth it! Just adds a little something, especially when there will be plenty of photos taken

My girlfriend who was married in cancun last year said her biggest tip was getting lattisse... That it made her lashes full and huge and easy to deal with in the humidity of Mexico.

I was thinking of getting eyelash extensions because I'm allergic to the glue for fake eyelashes. I still have long and thick eyelashes but it's just a bit to add a little extra something. And they'll look great in all the pictures even without makeup haha. Tinted eyelashes look great, I got it done once :).

I'm opting for fake tanning vs. spray tanning because I think it will really help me in preventing burns rather than going with my pasty skin hahah

Oh my gosh! Thanks @@kmk2016 and @@cometgirl! I'm glad I mentioned it! The latisse commercials just scared me when it said it could permanently change your eye color. But maybe worth the risk...haha :)

@@TinkerSofi - I was thinking of doing the tanning bed also. I quit doing it a few years ago but, like you, it really prevents me from burning when out in the sun. I am capable of getting a tan, it just takes awhile. I figure if I do a short amount of time over a few months it can't be that bad. But I will probably still do a spray tan on top of it!

That's exactly what I'm doing. I'm really not the one to go tanning but I figured only once and go little by little probably won't hurt. I can tan too but it takes some effort haha

@@calgarybride2015 one of my best friends is really good with nails so I was thinking either getting her to make me a french manicure the day before the wedding/go to the salon over there/or just suck it up and get french shellac. They look nice but i have to brace myself for the months of frustration afterwards (they will actually break where the nail is still attached to the nailbed so they can be quite painful). I think I'll get a nice pink on my toes to make them fun and because my toes are very small and look ridiculous with a french pedicure haha.

Look into a product called Nailtiques for right after a shellac. it means you can't do another manicure but it makes a huge difference in your nails. you do level 2 for 2 weeks, then switch to level 1. your nails will toughen up and grow like crazy at the end of 2 weeks I promise. it's a little pricey, but it's great stuff!!

Yeah that would be kind of gross. Where I go they separate the wax they will use on me

hehe I would hope most separate it now ... I am sure I read an article awhile back how it was transmitting diseases around with double dipping.  I went to look now and can't find it, but I am SURE i read something before.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
