When Are You Sending Your Pre-Travel Packages?

Recommended Posts

When are you/did you send your Pre-Travel Packages?

We are getting married on December 13 and want to get the pre-travel packages sent before the holiday season sets in.  I was thinking about sending them out around the 1st of November so about 5-6 weeks before the wedding, is this too early?

I am getting married January 21 and I am sending mine out early November. Just don't want to get into Christmas season and forget.

I'm sending a brochure with resort info, wedding info, special events, etc. And a luggage tag per person!

Almost ready to place my vistaprint order.

@@trbutler - Our wedding is a bit after yours - December 19 - and we sent them out already about 2 weeks ago.  Ours included an information passport, get pumped cd and luggage tags.  I wanted people to know details before coming, and i'm not sure if everyone reads the website or not.  We've had a really good response to them

You can see pics/read details in this thread:

Do most brides with destination weddings send our pre travel packages? I have all the info on our wedding website, and I will be putting a lot in OOT bags (including more resort info that applies after they arrive).

Nope not all do.   I have read of people using their website and/or sending an email.

The reason I am is because I had originally bought luggage tags to use as my favors and then decided not too.

Not to waste them, I am sending them out beforehand.

What you are doing is more than enough!

I plan on sending something out about 5-6 weeks before our date. I'm planning to make a brochure. Our resort is not open yet and so a lot of the typical resort info is not posted. I'm collecting some of this information so I can put it in a booklet along with what to pack and some other details related to our wedding weekend there. I'm going to include luggage tags and may put together some puzzle games for them to do while they're on the plan or whenever they feel like it! LOL

  • 2 weeks later...
  • 1 month later...

My wedding is Feb 23, and we are sending ours out right after the holidays (1st or 2nd week of January). We are including a CD with songs to get people even more excited for Mexico (if that's possible) and some important info...reminding people of restaurant dress codes, tipping protocol, advice on switching cell phone plans for the time they're there, etc. We are also doing OOT bags when they arrive, bamboo fans for the ceremony, and maracas for the reception. They're coming all the way to Mexico to see me, I'm going to pamper them :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
