Has anyone gotten married here?

I asked before in Newbies, but seriously considering it now, but recently heard mixed reviews. Now I'm wondering if I should choose someplace else.

Have you read through the resort reviews on the site? I'm sorry - I don't have any info on the resort. What about talking to your travel agent and see if they have any info they could add? They're supposed to be the pros for that kind of thing. As well, check out the forums here and read through them and see what brides have said.

Good luck!

@@acw271011 I don't have a travel agent yet, for a couple of reasons. I kind of wanted to pick the place first (but I don't know if that's the right order?). Also, the two travel agents I spoke with so far, after I was very clear I was not interested in sandals, kept trying to push sandals. I thanked them for their time, and told them I was not interested in using someone who wasn't listening to me.

I feel like the more I try and plan this, the more confused I get. I wanted to do a DW because I thought I would feel less pressure. Hah hah.

Well there is a very easy solution to that!!  Get in touch with the owners of this site, BDW. They're experts in destination weddings and have special relationships with several of the resort chains. I would highly recommend getting in touch with them, and telling them what you're looking for. Absolutely get a TA to help you. There are so many resorts out there, it's hard to field through them all. A TA that has experience will be an invaluable asset to you as you go through your planning process.

Check them out. You lose nothing by asking! Here's the link:

there are some agencies that really push certain resorts ONLY but we work with or clients to find a property that works for them.  There have been many times that the resort that would be perfect for the bride and groom was one that we did not work with but it was the right choice so I recommended the bride and groom book it (even if they could not use Wright Travel as their agency)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
